To drain the swamp, you can't hire swampers for the job. Some here hue and cry about lack of gravitas, experience, etc with some of these picks. I guess they're more comfortable with 'qualified' swamp creatures

Yes, disruption is absolutely essential. A friend from a military family explained to me that during the Obama administration there was a systematic effort to purge the officer ranks of conservatives and put in place men and women who were fully on board with LGBT, DEI etc. That needs to be undone. That didn’t happen in the first Trump administration, and Trump promoted disloyal credential whores like Milley who ended up openly defying him. Hegseth needs to clean house in a huge way.

It is common knowledge that ALL 0-7 (Flag Officer) candidates had to pass muster with the Ophonybama Diversity, Inclusion and Equity crowd.
Failure meant no star! And forced retirement.
I don’t know if any Real American full Colonels or Navy/Coast Guard Captains were able to sneak through the DIE gauntlet.
Based on what I have seen since the Ophonybama era, I don’t think so.
