I’m sure her self esteem took quite a blow.

A C gets a degree!

At Boeing, it is who you know and who you blow that matters most,

I'm sure she was "voluntold" into the position and immediately started making plans to bail. I've witness this happening with rapidly increasing frequency over the last ten years or so.

Who would take such a position, knowing all the failures? It's a setup for failure. Your own bosses who caused the problems certainly aren't going to help you fix them.

Smart woman if you ask me. She’s getting the hell out of Dodge before she personally gets sued and the Boeing Company itself for building airplanes that can’t fly.

Disagree, put too many engineers in leadership and the business side fall off and they go broke. It is a balance of perspectives that is needed.

“replace engineers with bean counters

That happened in my Quality department about 10 years before I got there....they thought they could train secretaries how to perform Quality functions.....after the experiment failed miserably, upper level management came back to their senses and returned to hiring candidates with actual previous experience.

It was really DEI before DEI had a name

Possibly, but in her defense, she appears to be a non-volunteer for the job and likely started making plans the moment they threw her in it.

I sympathize with some of these employees. I have a friend who has a target on her back. Her bosses wants to send her out as a sacrificial lamb for failed projects. They throw out a promotion into a position, often two or three tiers above her current one.

She's not falling for it and has never taken a promotion she didn't earn.
