FEMA outrage reveals weaponized government — and points Trump toward reform
New York Post ^ | Nov. 11, 2024 | Glenn H. Reynolds

One of President-elect Donald Trump’s first orders of business must be to de-weaponize the federal government. One episode from Florida illustrates why.

...

Marn’i Washington told FEMA workers in Florida to skip houses with Trump signs out front after Hurricane Helene.

...

America has a runaway budget deficit and a huge national debt. Our bloated federal government has increasingly been prone to abusing its power in ways large and small. (Forget FEMA – don’t get me started on the Department of Justice, which was treating parents who protested at school board meetings as domestic terrorists.)

In his second term, President Trump should slash the bloat. Some of these bureaucrats shouldn’t have jobs at all, doing work that’s either unnecessary to the constitutional responsibilities of government or that’s outright harmful.

The rest of them should have to worry more about being fired.

Make government responsible. Make government accountable. It’s time and past time.

Oh shoot, one more time today - it got a bit of tuning - Thanks, Joe Biden! (probably the only time I can say that)

Caught a government agency discriminating against Americans. That sounds like a fireable offense to me.

[Marn’i Washington told FEMA workers in Florida to skip houses with Trump signs out front after Hurricane Helene.]

Even the Biden administration was so embarrassed they quickly fired her.

NOW ... send her to prison. Soon.

SITYS in the fema case just doesn’t do it justice. We all knew that zero had populated the bureaucracy with minions and acolytes to do his bidding long after he left office. The fact that they’re so bold is helpful, but hardly a consolation to be proven correct.

I want orange jumpsuits and, when pertinent, firing squads.

But there’s one problem: The matter is so large it’s almost impossible to accomplish such a feat in 4 years without mass firings, and the xiden troup has seen fit to ensure that such actions get tied up in court for the duration.

I hope DJT has a good plan (and good advisors this time around; it’s his last hurrah, save for his influence after he leaves office).

Weaponized government is the real Obama legacy. It wasn’t great before Obama but he ramped it up 1,000%. Truly damaging to the republic.

FEMA Needs to Explain How This Was Allowed to Happen!

FEMA needs to be disbanded, and all of its' employees terminated from government service in the subsequent reduction-in-force.

The only effective operation of FEMA has been to pass out money to settle illegal aliens into "red" States in clear violation of Federal laws. They managed to spend it all, with nothing left to help the Helene or Milton hurricane victims. At least, so they claimed.

The cruel and evil orders from Marn'i Washington were not given in isolation. She was only stupid enough to put them in writing and get caught. The whole organization is permeated with similar hostile attitudes up through the highest levels of executive management. It cannot be reformed.

Get rid of it.

Firing all political appointments day one is a must. Then go in and reorganize and excise the leftist activism in government.

Folks,

I have worked with businesses in bad situation. The cure is tough times imposed by others or tough times imposed by us.

We are all going to have to pay a price for the bad prior decisions. Trump will have to make decisions that look bad for the current but are right for the future.

Anticipate them, don’t be surprised.

Things are about to get a whole lot more complicated.

The U.S. national debt is rising by $1 trillion about every 100 days.

Privatize the government bureaucracy. Companies can bid on the administrative work and government employees cam reapply for their jobs in the private sector. Then agency heads can tell companies they have to meet certain monthly deliverables or face a contract review and a rebid.

This is the best way to cleanup Washington.
