If this is not a mandate then I don't know what is. He improved everywhere and also won the popular vote. If you look at Harry Enten's analysis he is gobsmacked about how historical this win is.
And no, she could not have told the public what she was going to do on the first day and the first week and first hour because firstly she didn't know and secondly, if she did know the public would have been alerted to how radical she is.
To do differently for future elections: pick up extra boxes of Kleenex before, not after, the vote count starts on TV.

I heard on the radio that countries around the world are reacting to the Trump win as good news. Mexico is blocking the migrant caravans and asking to buy US natural gas instead of Russian, the same from the Eu.they say it was Biden who wouldn’t sell it. Hamas has even contacted Trump to talk.
They could try finding a decent candidate for a start.

I don’t know if you were around back then, but when the Iranian hostages were still being held, after Ronald Reagan was elected, they started seriously talking about releasing them. I think the reason for that was they knew that Reagan would have bombed The Living Daylights out of Iran, without batting an eye. They knew that and they knew they had to get those hostages back home or else they were in serious trouble. And of course, when Reagan was inaugurated, they released the hostages.
