Trump Wins Big with Hispanics, Flipping South Texas Counties

Hispanic Americans cast their vote in historic numbers for Republican President-elect Donald Trump, flipping historically blue counties red.

According to an NBC national exit poll, 54 percent of Hispanic/Latino men went for Trump.

In Maverick County, a border region including Eagle Pass, 59 percent of the vote went to Trump while 40 percent went to Kamala Harris—a 19-point victory for the Republican. In 2020, the county vote went to Biden by 9.5 percentage points.

The county voted Republican down the ballot, choosing U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and Congressman Tony Gonzales, and voted only for Democrat Eddie Morales for state representative.

Maverick County has about a 95 percent Hispanic population.

Webb County went 51 percent for Trump and 49 percent for Harris. The county voted for Democrat U.S. Rep. Colin Allred over Cruz but flipped the Texas House seat red for Don McLaughlin Jr. He is the first Republican in 20 years to win the seat.

Zapata County, part of the Rio Grande Valley, gave Trump an impressive win with 22 points over Harris. The county has approximately 95 percent Hispanic population.

Starr County granted Trump a 16 percentage point victory over Harris–making this election the first time in over 100 years the county vote went for a Republican.

Cameron County, Texas’ southernmost region, went 53 percent for Trump and 47 percent for Harris.

Hidalgo went red for Trump by three percentage points but stayed blue down the ballot. Former U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores lost in a close race to Democrat Vicente Gonzalez.

Dimmit County did not flip for Trump but came close. In 2020, Biden won the county by 24 percentage points. This year, Harris only won by three points.

The top issue for both Democrat and Republican Latino voters was the economy, according to a survey by Pew Research. Immigration was also a top issue for Latino Republican voters.

The movement of Texas Hispanics to the Republican Party is very significant.

I participated in a caravan and attended a rally for Trump organized and led by members of the Hispanic Republicans of Texas. It was a very heartening experience.

Yes it is good news as birth rates could threaten white dominance in the state.

Leftists can spin and propagandize all they want, and indeed, many people will reluctantly accept it.

But there’s always brief moments where the Neo-marxists reveal their perversity and social engineering. They come thick and fast the days.

For a Chinese friend of mine, it was Harris’ involvement in California Prop 47, which de facto (if not de jure) raised the shop-lifting crime limit to $950. that was his final straw

For another friend, their final straw was the tranny who attended the White House July 4th party where some queer/tranny guy flashed his fake breasts on the White House lawn. It was an act of disrespect they couldn’t stomach

I am sure there were plenty of such moments for average Hispanic citizens who don’t normally pay much attention to politics.

This is not rocket science. The border counties of Texas have been hit the worst by the influx of illegal aliens, they are not immigrants they are illegal aliens. Those border counties have been solid democrat for years and majority hispanic. They are pissed off. They went Republican up ballot and down ballot. Biden/Harris screwed them and they returned the favor.

I love my Texas.

Most of these people have American ancestry as far back as ours. Illegals don’t stay in these areas long.

Prospector is right. The Hispanics referred to in the article have been here for generations. Their communities have been adversely impacted by the influx of illegals. There are many illegals coming across the border than Hispanics. Biden has opened the border to those from the Middle East, Africa, China, Haiti, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and others.

I am still amazed that Tarrant County is red, unlike the other large areas of urban squalor.
