'This is a mandate. He's won the national popular vote for the Republicans for the first time since 2004. This is a big deal.
'This isn't backing into the office. This is a mandate to do what you said you were going to do: get the economy working again for regular working-class Americans, fix immigration, try to get crime under control, try to reduce the chaos in the world.
'This is a mandate from the American people to do that. I'm interpreting the results tonight as revenge of just the regular old working-class American, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to.
'They're not garbage, they're not Nazis. They're just regular people who get up and go to work every day and are trying to make a better life for their kids, and they feel like they have been told to just shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.
'I also feel like this election is something of an indictment on the political information complex. The story that was portrayed was not true.
'Night after night after night, we were told all these things and gimmicks were going to somehow push Harris over the line.
'And we were just ignoring the fundamentals: inflation, people feeling like they were barely able to tread water at best. That was the fundamentals of the election.
'I think both parties should always look at the results of an election and figure out what went right and what went wrong.
'But for all of us who cover elections, we have to figure out how to understand, talk to and listen to the half of the country that rose up tonight and said: We've had enough.'

.....’But for all of us who cover elections, (media) we have to figure out how to understand, talk to and listen to the half of the country that rose up tonight and said: We’ve had enough.’......
Just kidding.
Viewers were quick to point out the ‘look of horror on the other commenters faces’, including flagship CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, as they wordlessly stared at Jennings while his words sank in
They will never learn. Their tiny bubble is too tight.
Legacy media is finally being retired to the dustbin of history.
It was epic — almost made me cry. My favorite part:
“I’m interpreting the results tonight as revenge of just the regular old working-class American, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to.”
Watching the rest of the panel: Silent, with hang-dog looks on their faces. I could imagine bubbles over their heads, “We don’t have influence over the people any more. They don’t care what we say.”
They were shocked and speechless because the people he talked about are simply ratings numbers to them … faceless, anonymous, and to be utilized for gain.
And they talk about virtue, unity, and democracy all the while they denigrate the people who live it everyday.
I agree with a number of opinions posted today that, immediately after Harris and the democrats, the MSM is the biggest loser in this election.
When you live in a bubble it’s always stunning when reality intrudes.
Preety remarkable really - someone had to say it clearly.
Some day there will be a great movie: TRUMP 47 - The Reckoning
That or they have to make a huge turn around ...and that might be too late.
His name has been put out there to replace Topsy at the podium in the White House Press Room.
Tapper and John King had some pretty frank discussions during the quiet times last night also. They knew that Trump was right and that many people agreed with him, they just believed the made-up polls that said everything was tied-up instead of following the data. They did what they were paid to do.
Well. This is so deja vue. The same things were said in 2016, ie., journalists have to get out of their bubble and blah...blah...blah. The fact is that CNN is there to spread communist propaganda and not to report news damaging to the party. The panelists sitting silent aren’t being introspective. They’re are dirty communists who are going to throw Jennings out of a window the first chance they get.
I suspect much will be written of this time......2016 to 2024
understood.
yes, you’ve put your finger on a key part of the problem (at least with the majority of the corporate mass media)
“It’s the economy, stupid!”
