Parents in Hawaii have reacted angrily to revelations that students at a middle school are studying biased class materials that disparage former Republican president Donald Trump.
The controversy erupted after sixth graders at Kapolei Middle School, in Kapolei, some 25 miles west of Honolulu, received a slanted two-page document about the 2024 presidential candidates.
The handout for students aged 11 and 12 focused on negative characterizations of Trump, including how he 'tried to overturn the 2020 election,' and takes immigrant 'children away from their parents.'

My wife is a teacher. Not social studies but teachers who don’t know enough of a subject rely on subscription news letters and services to help fill in those gaps. Many of those services are very left leaning so of course paint Trump in a terrible light.

We need to start an “Independence for Hawaii!” campaign. Talk about how the indigenous people have been overrun and overruled by the white-man, how they should be the center of a new Pacific League of Nations, and remind them independence means permanent freedom from the IRS.
We illegally overthrew the Monarchy, Hawaii had borders, language and culture that was separate from the US.
Sure, we could have still had the bases we needed, just as with the Philippines.

Hawaii schools are so horrible that all I can say is at least they taught those poor kids something.
When I lived in Hawaii and was going to school, the teachers went on strike for a month.
I was sad when they announced the strike was over. ;)
I spent two years in San Jose Unified and thought California was the worst. Then I talked to parents assigned to Hawaii, some of them having to spend $10’s of thousands a year for private schools and going without big time. It ain’t paradise, especially if your kids are haoles.
When we lived on Maui, the public school teachers were sending their own kids to private schools. That should tell you something.

Hawaii has arguably the worst public education system in the union. Easily challenging Detroit and Chicago. They are REQUIRED to be racist.
