Snopes is trying to confuse the issue--it is clear what Biden meant.

A third possibility would be "supporters'" (possessive plural), as if Trump supporters produced more garbage than most other Americans (which could be easily disproven), but there is no chance Biden meant that. (He could have clarified his meaning by saying "his supporters' garbage.")

For once the mainstream media wasn't able to ignore a story that damages their party.

The left can’t help themselves, and have just gone full blast with the gaslighting. Of course we all saw it, and in context of Joe’s long history of insulting ordinary voters, and current state of decline it’s obvious he just said what he thinks about his political opponents.

Au contraire! Snopes is lying here. When one refers to a single person's comment, one would properly add the article 'a' ahead of the reference to the person. Biden would have said: " a supporter's garbage" No 'divining' is necessary. Biden was referring to ALL supporters.
