It definitely looks like conservatives are starting to catch up in the early voting and mail-in ballot arenas - we were left in the dust in 2020 and 2024, but with Trump on the ballot, motivation is a lot higher.

My only worry is whether we cannibalize our election day turnout.

I agree we need to bank these votes, but it might make calling races harder on election day

Democrats are suppressed (depressed) for some reason. :-)

I know it’s Florida and they have an ethical governor but can ewe please stop with this early pronouncement stuff? Doesn’t it just leave more room and space and motivation for the other side to sabotage?!

One thing this should do is make it harder for dems to inject tons of fake ballots at the 12th (or 14th, or 48th…) hour and claim that it was just an expected bump due to dems voting earlier and those votes taking longer to count. We should all be on equal footing now, with Republicans also voting early, so there’s no excuse for any mysterious last-minute bump ups in dem “votes.”

I was thinking the same thing. If the Trump voters were voting Trump anyway, an early vote doesn’t necessarily reflect a victory or change in turnout. I suppose it could indicate voter enthusiasm. On the negative side, it could give earlier indication to the bad guys of how many votes they need to manufacture. But, early vote or not , Trump votes are a good thing.

I’m pretty positive that we can’t put this “genie” back in the bottle.

But, I really wish we could eliminate this ludicrous mail in ballot business and limit early voting.

Make Election Day a national holiday and almost everyone votes at that time. Results should be conclusive by midnight pacific time.

Thank Ron DeSantis for this. He turned a purple state bright red.

Isn’t this an enclave of retired Jews? If so, this is excellent news.

Exactly. 1.2 million Republicans over Democrats.

2016 - 998,000 ballots cast in Miami-Dade.

Hillary - 63%
Trump - 34%

2020 - 1,166,000 ballots cast

Biden - 53%
Trump - 46%

Looking like Trump may win Miami-Dade outright in 2024, talk about a monumental swing in voting patterns.

Agreed, that's a real concern for me as well - Republicans have been winning on Election Day balloting and that must continue if we're to have any hope. But we won the Election Day turnout battle in 2020 and 2022 and still ended up with bad results - we have no choice but to also compete in the early balloting.

I agree, we cant wait, we need to log these votes and allow the campaign to target the smaller and smaller pool of supporters who haven’t voted yet in the process.
