Kamala Harris’ campaign makes another huge flip-flop on fracking
New York Post ^ | 10/23/24 | George Caldwell

The Kamala Harris campaign has flip-flopped once again on fracking, with a key official admitting the vice president is not advocating its expansion.

Harris’ struggles balancing her climate activism with a shift to the center on energy threaten her chances in Pennsylvania, where former President Donald Trump is pulling ahead in some polling.

Fracking is a hot-button issue in the must-win Keystone State, where it supports around 123,000 jobs and led to more than $41 billion in 2022 economic activity, according to the energy economists at FTI Consulting.

Running in the Democratic presidential primary in 2019, Harris declared at a CNN town hall, “There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking.”

Now the Democratic nominee, the veep insists, “As president I will not ban fracking.”

So Politico asked Harris’ climate-engagement director, Camila Thorndike, how the team balances the veep’s recent statements in favor of fracking with the campaign’s heated rhetoric around climate change.

What did Margaret Thatcher say, "Those in the middle of the road get run over".

Fracking in Western Pennsylvania has brought jobs and prosperity.

For those who oppose fracking, I’d like them to explain why oil imported from Iran or Russia is more environmentally friendly than oil produced in the USA where it done in the most responsible manner and not shipped across an ocean?

Domestically-produced oil has a smaller environmental impact than oil produced elsewhere.

Their opposition is illogical or they are really just allies of Iran AND Russia.

She's not getting some wondrous abortion turnout.

She's teaming up with Filibuster Wendy Davis in Texas for a big rally at the END of her campaign. Folks, if not for J6 and literally Hitler, all they would have is abortion and she's HAVING to campaign for that vote.

Suburban women post 9/11 were expected to turn out for Kerry. . They voted for safe and secure Bush instead.

Especially early in her career she was for effing. Now she keeps changing her mind. What’s up with that?

Trump needs to emphasize his support for fracking, and make sure everyone knows that regardless of whatever Cackles says now, we know exactly how she would act if she were elected.

We got some real parsing going on here. I believe that she would not outright ban fracking, but she would regulate it to the point where it would be impossible for it to be done, or at least it unprofitable.

Domestically-produced oil has a smaller environmental impact than oil produced elsewhere.

And it costs less. An oil tanker shipped across oceans burns a lot of oil to get here. One reason why gas costs almost $6 a gallon in the SF Bay Area. The refineries get the oil from overseas, used to be domestically produced in California, not now.

“admitting the vice president is not advocating its expansion”

so if fracking isn’t “expanded”, that’s exactly the same thing as banning it since only newly drilled wells are fracked ...

just more word play games by the national socialist fascists ...

her campaign has stated she’s for NOT expanding the use of fracking, but since only newly drilled wells are fracked, that’s EXACTLY the same thing as banning fracking ... pretty slick obfuscation, huh?

Kamala got the JV team of advisors—nobody wanted to work for her because she is a mean and nasty boss.

It’s hilarious to watch.

The only way dems have a chance in the election is to pretend they are Republicans.

I still say how do the hardline woke climate change cultists feel about her saying she won’t frack?

Or as one news guy said, they all know she is lying, this time about pretending to be for fracking but will spring back to working to prosecute CEOs of fossil fuel companies. Just a socialist trick to fool the people.

RE: it supports around 123,000 jobs and led to more than $41 billion....

But they can try to learn coding. Or work three part time jobs fighting to keep them against millions of illegals who will work for less.

Good one.

When Chris Christie did that it started the major shifts in waves all over the solar system including shaking the sun to start those record solar flare busts.
