ROGERS, Ark. (KOAM) — Authorities confirm a massive fire near the Rogers Municipal Airport at Marck Industries (recycling center), 3500 block of N Arkansas Street.
Rogers Fire Dept state, “We are on the scene of a large fire in our city. The crews on scene are working diligently to get the situation under control. Our 911 center is being inundated with calls on both the emergency and nonemergency lines.”
Currently they are asking people to shelter in place.
“Public Safety Alert. Hazardous Smoke Warning. Large fire on the NE side of Rogers. Additional: People with respiratory problems, Elderly, and children are recommended to seek shelter and shelter in place.”
Rogers resident Tim Jordan shared video with us saying they live about a 1/2 mile away. It's so big he says, everyone in Northwest Arkansas can see it.

What is it with fires and Arkansas airports? Are they just burning evidence?
Maybe patriots are burning stolen ballots.
Lithium batteries?
Clinton’s involved?
Actually a waste and recycling center just a few miles from me. Huge smoke cloud rising from the Marck Center, and heading West.
Looks like they’ve found an efficient method for getting rid of waste and recyclables!
On the off chance you ever check in, please check in.
Smoke cloud doesn’t seem to be a threat; it’s dispersing at a fairly high altitude. Air at low altitude is clear everywhere in the vicinity of the fire.
This is on FR why?
That’s exactly what happened in Orrington, Maine, near Bangor last week.
The now shuttered trash-to-energy plant in that town was due to re-open under a new owner early next year.
Meanwhile, 8,000 tons of trash stored there caught fire, fouling the air in nearby communities.
A lithium battery in the huge trash pile is believed to be the cause of the fire.

A few times over the years, I’ve read an article about a landfill or waste facility that was at maximum use and there would be discussions about what to be done. A few months later a massive fire would break out and the problem would be resolved after a few weeks of non-stop burning and smoke pollution.
a ‘Family Feud’ good answer
you are a noobie
Dilution is the solution to pollution
...According to folks who just don’t want to find a real solution
you are a nobody
