New York Republican Congressman Anthony D'Esposito is in hot water after bombshell allegations that he had an affair with a woman and then put her on his taxpayer-funded payroll.
According to the New York Times, the 42-year-old first-term lawmaker was having an affair with Devin Faas. It attributed news of the relationship to four people familiar with it.
Last April, Faas started receiving $2,000 a month for a part-time job in his district office.
The job came soon after D'Esposito also hired his longtime fiancée’s daughter to work as a special assistant in that same district office shortly after he took office, the New York Times also reported. Her salary was eventually bumped up to $3,800 a month.
The report suggests the move putting both his mistress and his fiancée’s daughter on the taxpayer funded payroll is in possible violation of House ethics rules.
The payments to both women stopped abruptly a few months later in the summer of 2023, the New York Times reports.
According to the four people familiar with the relationship, that's around the time D’Esposito’s fiancée found out about the affair with Faas and briefly broke up with him.
His employment of the two women resulted in payment of $29,000 in taxpayer money, which could result in disciplinary action in the House experts told the Times.
DailyMail.com reached out to the congressman's office by phone and email for comment but did not immediately hear back.
A spokesperson for the congressman did not deny the affair to the New York Times and declined to comment on the employment of the women.
'We do not comment on personnel matters,' Matt Capp said.
He stated the congressman 'remains focused on fighting for real issues that impact Long Islanders, like securing our borders and ending the affordability crisis.'

He should set his sights higher.
Kamala got a BMW and a job from WIllie Brown.
So . . . are the mistress and “longtime fiancée” the same person? Or two different floozies?
So, is it OK if he only puts one of them on the payroll? /s
Yawn, I just can’t find any rage in me given MSM does nothing but amplify even the smallest of indiscretions for republicans and ignores literally murder and the most depraved acts of the democrats.
Adulty is wrong, ok that is for him to deal with. Does he represent his community well? That is all that matters, he is not running for your church pastor.
$2000 a month? In NY?
With politicians, adds street creds.
It must be October.
Willie got a "job" too.
And a word that rhymes with bimmer

And could lead to Bobbitization...
Enough to cover Honey Birdette purchases and birth control.
Hired fiancee’s daughter and his side-chick to work in same office.
Unless it was different shifts that was self-destructively stupid.
Even different shifts is self deceiving stupid.
What do you call nepotism when it’s for sexual interests?
.....few minutes research....
New Latin coinage: pallacism.
$24,000 a year sounds like a part-time job.
He was always probable to lose in 2024 anyway. His fluke win in 2022 was the first for a Republican in that district in 28 years, and pre-2022 redistricting actually moved the district further to the LEFT.
Demographics and election results for New York congressional district 4
As far as the House in general, many GOP incumbents are having big problems while very few supposedly vulnerable Democrats are facing much difficulty. If the polls can be believed (ones we WANT to believe are of course valid, so I guess these ones aren't) the Democrats are going to easily find the 5 seats they need -- and more -- to flip in order for racist Brooklyn election-denier Hakeem Homeboy to become Speaker in 2025. It will be "historic" (barf).
It's the Democrat way of funneling "hush money" to paramours.
Remember Wayne Hayes (D-OH) and Elizabeth Ray?

The real question is, how many impeachments can they get in over a two year period.
Perhaps he just trusted the two to do the part time low paying job more than anybody else.
Meanwhile we have big time politicians selling out and destroying the country. I'm so sick of this.
Maybe he figures if he acted like a Democrat, he’d have a better chance of winning.
