Facts Versus Lies: How PM Orbán Put EP Leaders in Their Place in Fiery Debate
Hungarian Conservative ^ | October 10, 2024 | Joakim Scheffer

Wednesday’s debate in the European Parliament (EP) confirmed what those on the right have long suspected: both the EP and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have become political instruments of the left-wing mainstream in their campaign against sovereign states. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán travelled to Strasbourg to outline the priorities of Hungary’s EU Presidency but found himself in the midst of a purely political and personal confrontation. Both the Commission President and the leaders of the EP’s mainstream political groups launched a series of baseless accusations and propagandistic attacks against Hungary. However, as facts are stubborn things, Orbán held his ground and challenged the MEPs with the truth.

In her speech, Ursula von der Leyen criticized Hungary over its relations with Russia and China, among other issues, stating that PM Orbán’s address placed little emphasis on Ukraine and that Hungary is the only EU member state blaming the victim in the war rather than the aggressor. Von der Leyen drew a parallel between the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and the war in Ukraine...

In his response, Orbán stated: ‘Any analogy or comparison that equates the Hungarian freedom fighters of 1956 with Ukraine is a mistake and a desecration of their memory. There is nothing in common between 1956 and the Ukrainian-Russian war.’ The Hungarian PM went on to highlight that the EU’s current strategy towards Ukraine is flawed, poorly conceived, and ineffectively executed. He argued that in every conflict, there must be diplomatic engagement, and in its absence, we risk drifting further into the abyss of war. ‘That’s why I propose that we should rally behind peace instead. Let’s advocate for a ceasefire and develop a new strategy, because the current path will lead to our collective downfall,’ he warned.

“There is nothing in common between 1956 and the Ukrainian-Russian war.’”

Orban is lying. It is sad to see how his mind has been twisted by the necessity of maintaining Russian energy supplies.

The neocons have more blood on their hands than Pontius Pilate. They don’t believe in the devil, but does the devil’s bidding at every opportunity. Constant war and death are their calling card. That is all they know.

Orban is not lying. Ukraine is a puppet of the EU, NATO, and the US. These powers have wanted war rather than a peaceful solution that Russia wanted.

This is a brilliant quote that should make all the Zeepers pause:

He argued that in every conflict, there must be diplomatic engagement, and in its absence, we risk drifting further into the abyss of war. ‘That’s why I propose that we should rally behind peace instead. Let’s advocate for a ceasefire and develop a new strategy, because the current path will lead to our collective downfall,’ he warned.

Minsk 1, Minsk 2 and the talks in Istanbul were all peace settlements where Ukraine was going to get back all its land.
This is a reality. What stopped the Istanbul peace settlement was Boris Johnson telling Zelinsky to go to war. Boris was conveying a message from the west, probably the US. If you have a problem with those facts, then google it.

You know, anybody can say something is nonsense without proof. That is all you are doing. You offer no evidence or proof of what you speak. Why don’t you google what happened at the Istanbul summit and Boris Johnson’s role? You would be doing yourself a favor by learning something. Then you can express an opinion on the subject, instead of offering the word nonsense without any proof. Trust me, you would be doing yourself and the readers a favor.

If Obama had the balls to restore Ukraines nuclear arsenal when Russia invaded Crimea we would not be in this situation now. When the USSR broke up, Russia, ukraine and us agreed that Ukraine would turn over all their nuclear weapons to Russia in return for ironclad agreements by Russia to never invade them. The credible threat to restore their nuclear arsenal may have been enough to force Russia to leave but only if they believed their continued occupation of Crimea would lead to a nuclear armed Ukraine

They may seem obvious to you, but if you don’t check them out — which is easy to do — then your short life will have been one of delusion. And you don’t want that, do you?

Why not state the evidence for your ridiculous statements?

Was Russia prepared to return Crimea and the Donbas at those Minsk conferences? if so, what is your evidence? I know of no such evidence.

Putin greed to talk to Ukraine over the next ten to 15 years to resolve the Crimea Border despite. This was established in a communiqué in Istanbul on March 29. The deal looked promising — Ukraine remaining neutral, it could enter the EU, etc. — but then it fell apart when Boris came in on March 30. Then it became a shit show.
