Russian forces have entered the outskirts of the eastern Ukraine frontline city of Toretsk, Ukraine's military said late Monday, less than a week after the fall of the bastion town of Vuhledar.
"The situation is unstable, fighting is taking place literally at every entrance (to the city)," Anastasiia Bobovnikova, spokesperson of the Operational Tactical Group "Luhansk" told Ukraine's national broadcaster.

This war needs to end before the mid east conflict can be addressed.
I’ve never seen a good analysis of Ukraine’s defenses, and why the media states places like Ugledar or Pokrovsk are so special.
Yes, they may be larger “citadels” but on the other hand, this war has been two years of Russia slowly taking fields and reducing small towns to rubble, with Ukrainians simply falling back and repeating the process at the next town down the road.

The Quickest to learn and adapt are the quickest to make gains on the battlefield.
Also, I am trained in Naval and naval Shore Support warfare only, so it takes me more time for me to analyze onshore warfare (which adapts before I get a good handle on what just occurred).
The Ruskie strategy of go slow and grind the Ukes into dust is intentional, not because they are unable to conduct maneuver warfare.
