SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday halted a ruling striking down the state’s near-ban on abortions while it considers the state’s appeal.
The high court’s order came a week after a judge found that Georgia unconstitutionally prohibits abortions beyond about six weeks of pregnancy, often before women realize they’re pregnant. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ruled Sept. 30 that privacy rights under Georgia’s state constitution include the right to make personal healthcare decisions.
The state Supreme Court put McBurney’s ruling on hold at the request of Republican state Attorney General Chris Carr, whose office is appealing.
In a dissenting opinion, Justice John J. Ellington argued that the case “should not be predetermined in the State’s favor before the appeal is even docketed.”

“near ban...?” AP-speak is something to behold.
Don’t you just love this “before women realize they’re pregnant” excuse? As if they are ignorant on where babies come from.
These aren’t very smart women.
Yes, that was meant to be insulting to all ghettopotami. Tired of walking on egg shells with people who hate us and spend every waking moment trying to ruin our lives.
And to think that evil people will campaign on this to stupid people. “Kill your baby sooner rather than later”
Yes, most naive folks are stupid, not evil. There’s a whole lot of stupid people though...
Apparently Judge McBurney imagines a “Roe vs Wade”-style right to an abortion in the GA constitution when there’s plainly no such language to that effect. Hard to imagine his ruling standing up less the GA scotus are leftist hacks.
I was two weeks pregnant when I started throwing up at the smell of some foods in the morning. It didn’t take a lot to figure out what was causing that problem.
Abortion is part of the left’s religion. They know they are killing a child and they celebrate that fact.
If ever.
“stupid people”
I’ve never forgotten a quote of the late great Catholic writer Joseph Sobran (1946-2010) on the state of America 2006: “a stupid and sinful populace”.
Our founding fathers would basically say: If the people turn into a bunch of dumbbells, the whole thing will come crashing down.
The globalists, the oligarchs, the elites, the leftists want a stupid, miseducated population to control easier.
For me, the most chilling as it relates to abortion is what the great abolitionist, Pastor Theodore Weld, wrote in The Bible Against Slavery. He defined slavery as:
"ENSLAVING MEN IS REDUCING THEM TO ARTICLES OF PROPERTY—making them chattels—converting persons into things—turning immortality into merchandise. A slave is one held in this condition. In law 'he owns nothing, and can acquire nothing.' His right to himself is abrogated." "We repeat it, THE REDUCTION OF PERS0NS TO THINGS!" (pages 16-17)
To me, the Dims' modern day saying "It's not a baby. It's just a clump of cells." is way to similar to the Dims' old saying "It's not a person. It's property." They are masters (pardon the pun) at defining away a person's personhood.
People who either don't know history or learn a revisionist version of it, are people doomed to repeat it.
My first and only thought is - HOW did it happen and WHO did it???
Evil has a 100-year plan, good people don’t know what they are doing next week.
Evil planned it out a long time ago to dissolve the fabric of the family. Not just the black, poor, &/or low-IQ folks but the “smart” and productive members of society. We see the destruction of the family is the aforementioned lower casque but never pay attention to the others. Good hardworking folks have outsourced the raising and influence of their kids and have no idea the lack of morals in the family. Good hardworking men are clueless about what is happening under their own roof and that to me is the greatest failure. Also these same “men” will push their daughters to kill the baby because that wasn’t part of the success plan.
I’m still trying to find where it mentions abortion or killing babies in the Constitution...
A quote from Dietrich Bonhoeffer:
Taken from a circular letter, addressing many topics, written to three friends and co-workers in the conspiracy against Hitler, on the tenth anniversary of Hitler’s accession to the chancellorship of Germany…‘Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed- in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.
There are a lot of stupid people with college degrees.
Stupid commerce clause has been rationalized to justify the feds doing just about anything. Drastically limiting the commerce clause would probably be the single most impactful change we could make to fix the country.
and unlike real hippos, you are not at risk of being run down by them. you can out run them.
However some are able to use cars and trucks. so proceed with caution.
