62% over 6 years? I’d love a 10% raise each year.

But I’m not gonna get one.

They were average $81K a year. If you can get by on what remains of $40.5K after taxes are taken out, I want to know your secret.

They own everything because every level of government allows them to control everything.

A politician that will push back, will be pushed out. Why? Because voters can’t see the forest for the trees.

They own everything because Americans give them billions every month from their 401(k)s. The US public has been funding our own demise for decades now. Every week people hand over cash to them without so much as thinking about where it goes and what the companies do with it.

They probably agreed to this to spare Biden and Harris the political embarrassment of having to invoke Taft-Hartley, which would have stopped the strike for about the same period of time, but would make Harris look anti-union—to the unions anyway.

No problem, Common sense and practicality. One can live fat and fine on 40k, one can actually live without a bunch of unneeded shiny social status toys. I’m living just fine on 24k a year right now because I don’t need shiny toys to show off and impress others. I’m practical and really do not care what others think.

I have shiny toys, and using those toys makes life better.

“The top 5 investment banks, own everything. We are an oligarchy.”

Now you are catching on. I sure wish more would wake up to this very real Global control hierarchy.

Good for you... Looks like you have been very well trained as a consumer slave then. It really is nothing to be proud of and it is a huge part of our economic problem.

Agree with the both of you.

Complacency kills everything.

The oligarchs have fully taken control of the very things that are supposed to our watchdogs and keep us aware of what bad actors are trying to do us. Instead, they’re easily bought off and are complicit.

That happens because we keep electing the same people, who keep screw us over. All in the name of progress or some other nonsense.

(I agree)

There will be a short time of great drama to gather a lot of attention, then Kamalah will ‘save the day’ and ‘personally negotiate an agreement’.

Then the MSM will report nonstop how Kamalah is oh so presidential. And just before the election.

I imported the above comment from the FR thread posted earlier on this story. I think the writer of the comment is absolutely on the money.

“Dockworkers’ union to suspend strike until Jan. 15 to allow time to negotiate new contract”

SHould read, “Dockworkers’ union to suspend strike until Jan. 15 to allow the deep state to be reelected.”

...”Those guys furthest from retirement better start seriously thinking about new skills training.”

To paraphrase Joe Biden; “Anybody who can unload a container ship, sure in hell can learn to program as well, but we don’t think of it that way,”

DeSantis announced that he would send the National Guard to Florida ports in order to continue supplying those ravaged by hurricane Helene. If it is possible for people who do not have extensive experience in operating a port to continue the work, the union probably could not afford to have people find out that it is not that highly skilled a job. Is it? I do not know how quickly a new person could do the longshoreman’s job.

Another job that is extremely highly paid and practically requires inheriting the position is a bay pilot. The bay pilot job, however, is so highly skilled and requires so much experience that no one could just send in the National Guard to do it.

Yep, you are right on the money... Pun intended.

BlackRck, State Street, and Vanguard own all of our agencies and representatives. Our whole government and our whole nation. They own the Federal Reserve, the IMF, the World Bank and every financial institution and bank in this country. they own the MIC, the Health care industry, the media and entertainment worlds, and the petroleum industry. They own all the land and buildings and assets. And they own US as labor.

They literally own and control EVERYTHING through debt and acquisition.

But here is a tid bit. Rumor has it that BlackRock’s Alladin has spun out of control and they themselves cannot stop it. So it may get more interesting if this is the case.

Yep. That’s what things like deregulation, wealth concentration, and regulatory capture have brought us.
