Jimmy Carter becomes first former president to celebrate 100th birthday

Jimmy Carter Turns 100

President Jimmy Carter has turned 100, becoming the first former commander-in-chief to reach the triple digits and be the longest-lived former president in United States history.

Carter hit the milestone on Tuesday, having been born weeks before President Calvin Coolidge won reelection and while Prohibition was still the law of the land.

In celebration of the former president, The Carter Center released a statement Tuesday morning calling Carter “a beacon of leadership and compassion, inspiring people around the globe.”

“President Carter’s legacy continues to inspire hope and progress worldwide. His century of life is a testament to the power of service, and The Carter Center stands as an enduring reminder of his commitment to peace, health, and human rights,” stated the Center.

On Sept. 17, the Center held a concert in Carter’s honor at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, which featured several musical talents and approximately 4,000 attendees.

Carter was a native of a small farming town in Georgia, eventually receiving a bachelor of science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1946. That same year, he married Rosalynn Smith. Their marriage would last until her death last November at the age of 96.

Beginning in the 1960s, Carter became involved in politics, being elected to the Georgia Senate in 1962, becoming governor of Georgia in 1971, and serving as campaign chairman for the Democratic National Committee in 1974.

In 1976, Carter was elected president, defeating Republican incumbent and former vice president Gerald Ford with 297 electoral college points and more than 40 million votes.

“Significant foreign policy accomplishments of his administration included the Panama Canal treaties, the Camp David Accords, the treaty of peace between Egypt and Israel, the SALT II treaty with the Soviet Union, and the establishment of U.S. diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China,” according to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library.

“On the domestic side, the administration’s achievements included a comprehensive energy program conducted by a new Department of Energy; deregulation in energy, transportation, communications, and finance; major educational programs under a new Department of Education; and major environmental protection legislation, including the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act.”

Carter would only serve one term in office, however, as a severe economic recession and international problems such as the Iranian Revolution dropped his approval ratings.

Since leaving office, Carter has become known for his many charitable efforts, including decades of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity alongside his wife.

Beginning in the 1980s, Carter was a regular Sunday School teacher at Maranatha Baptist Church of Plains, Georgia, overseeing classes even in 2015 while he was battling cancer.

Carter was a longtime member of the Southern Baptist Convention, but ultimately left the denomination in 2000 due to, among other things, their refusal to allow women to serve as pastors.

Carter was put into hospice care in February of last year due to various health issues, and has since quit teaching Sunday School at Maranatha.

Reportedly, Carter wanted to reach 100 in order to be able to cast a vote for Democratic presidential hopeful and current Vice President Kamala Harris.

Is Biden the first former president to still “live” in the White House?

Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize for helping terrorists in the middle east pretend they made peace with Israel.

Trump brought the historic Abraham Accords, no member nations of which are currently fighting Israel. In fact they recently helped Israel with Iran launched a bunch of missiles at Israel. But Trump won't be awarded the bogus "peace" prize.

No. As much as I hated Carter, he did help make peace between Egypt and Israel, a peace that has lasted.

"Jimmy Carter becomes first former president to celebrate 100th birthday"

Seems like Joe Biden has been acting like a former president who turned 100 for at least the last four years - maybe Joe deserves some kind of honorary recognition...

Happy B’day Jimmah. But let’s not forget the scientists and researchers who made it possible. Jimmah’s cancer had spread throughout his body and he was months from dying when a miraculous immunotherapy drug wiped out his cancer. And now he’s made it to 100.

Tell that to the IDF who recently found 50 tunnels running from Egypt into Gaza. Tell that to the Israeli diplomats who've heard the Egyptians demand for decades that Israel adopt a "two-state solution".

The terms of that agreement so called was made between Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Israel. Sadat was afterward murdered by the Muslim Brotherhood-the same organization which backed, along with George Soros and William Ayers (of the Weather Underground Marxists in the US) the Kenyan usurper Obam-mau-mau-mao his “daddy” was a member of KANU and supported Jomo Kenyatta-the leader of the KANU party in Kenya who masterminded the Mau Mau murderous terrorist uprising. Kenyatta got his Communist education at Moscow’s Communist University of the Toilers of the East . That Jomo Kenyatta. And that Obamau-mao that is still embedding muslims in our government and being a puppeteer proxy “present-dent”. More disgusting than Carter. But Carter was the one Joey Bags Xiden went to first to pick up the BS to continue for Carter, and puppet of Obamaumao.

The agreement did not last and only peace exists because of al-Sisi and scared to death Egyptian military- only recently inspired by Qatar the paymaster of Iran to Hamas, Hezbollah and all their other proxies- soon to be slaughtered.

#4: "Compared to Biden, Jimmy is George Washington."

Yes. Jimmy spent his retirement building homes for those in need. He taught Sunday school every week. Before becoming president, Jimmy was a nuclear engineer, serving his country in the Navy aboard a boomer. He was a real farmer with all the trials that come with that.

He has a decent daughter, who despite some growing pains, turned into decent woman and wife. Jimmy's wife Rosalynn was a charming, dignified Godly woman.

Take a look at Biden and Mrs. Biden lolling on the beach, and then compare that to President Carter. Does anyone think Joey or Jilly could quote even a half line of scripture or hammer one nail to help someone?

Jimmy made mistakes in his life. He is human. Lord knowns, I've made plenty. Thank God they weren't covered by the news media, and broadcast for the world to see.

A statement saying Carter is “a beacon of leadership and compassion, inspiring people around the globe” is not a true measure of the man. Annually I send this letter to about 40 papers and commentators to give balance to his accolades.

Jimmy Carter: Egypt and Israel Peace Treaty

We will recognize March 26 as the anniversary of peace between Egypt and Israel for which Anwar el-Sadat and Menachem Begin won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1978. Concurrently we will applaud Jimmy Carter's 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts such as that.

Nevertheless, we should remember the truly worthy recipient of the three was Anwar Sadat. Through three wars Arab leaders had used Egyptian blood and treasure for vicarious satisfaction of their Jewish hatred which had invigorated their despotic regimes. By conclusion of the 1973 war, Sadat was certain Egypt's price for Arab victory would not only include countless military deaths, but also destruction of the Aswan Dam leading to 100,000's of Egyptian flood victims and catastrophic infrastructure damage.

Sadat brought an end to this waring cycle and looming national catastrophe with his historic trip to Jerusalem on November 7, 1977, and thereby began a process he formalized by signing the Camp David Accords the following September, and the peace treaty of 1979. For his extraordinary statesmanship, the Arab League suspended Egyptian membership. Two years later Sadat was assassinated by an amalgam of Islamic radicals including Ayman al-Zawahiri who came from the Muslim Brotherhood and became a leader of al-Qaeda.

In comparison, Begin risked nothing politically, and Carter just served milk and cookies.

I am sure that Carter’s life is as dear to him as is mine to me. That said, I begrudge him every second of his miserable existance as he has wasted every moment with incompetence, and destructive acts. His life is a lie as is all leftists/Democrats.

***Carter’s age gives meaning to the song “Only the Good Die Young”!***

Also gives meaning to:

Ephesians 6:1–3
“Honor your father and mother, so that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth”
