We don’t think about it, but it’s only 375 straight line miles from tallahassee Fl to Asheville nc.
Obviously, here in Florida I was concentrating on the wind and storm-surge aspects of Helene for my west coast home. Following the 24x7 coverage, we were constantly reminded that this would NOT be a rain event for Florida.
Once the storm passed, I was too caught up with the aftermath to keep tabs on where Helene was going or what she became. So it came as quite a surprise to see the hurricane transform into a rain event. Prayers out for all those impacted.
