We live just over the border in east Tennessee. The mountains of western North Carolina are one of the prettiest areas of the country. Recovery will probably take years in some areas.
We actually live on a mountain stream that signficantly floods on average about once every three years, hurricane or no hurricane. We were spared without any flooding at all. But some areas just 30 miles to the northeast of us were devastated.

Bridges gone, railways gone, interstate gone, secondary roads gone, Power grid gone, Communications networks gone. This will take years to repair. The people will essentially be living in the 1800’s for the next several years................

Knowing that Asheville is a Democrat paradise, I have problems feeling bad for all the dead liberals.
