Tory leadership hopefuls Badenoch and Jenrick pledge big changes on immigration

People are bringing views to UK that aren't welcome - Badenoch

Pressed on migration, Badenoch says it is "clear" there are many people who have recently come to this country who have brought views that "have no place here".

She says this is not just about conflicts in Middle East - citing her time as equalities minister when she says she saw people bringing cultural disputes from India "to the streets of Leicester".

She says we need to ensure that migrants to the UK leave their "previous differences" behind.

'We are not a dormitory'

The questioning on immigration continues.

Badenoch says the UK needs to "uphold our values in this country" and ensure that it doesn't turn into a place that "millions of people are running from".

"I don't think that people who bring foreign conflicts here should be welcome," she says - people who come to the UK should want to be part of it and integrate.

"We are not a dormitory, this is our home, having people from all around the world just living in their little bubbles and little groups is a recipe for disaster."

Lying Tories insulting voter’s intelligence by saying what they want hear. And even if they were sincere, the 1922 Committee and the Tory establishment wouldn’t let them. They would sabotage their agenda like they did with Liz Truss and Kwazi Kwartang.

Jenrick says that top of his list of things to fix is immigration - but there were other problems in the previous government’s record, he says, including the economy and the NHS.

He says he’s spent the last few months “thinking very deeply” about “serious answers” to the challenges that the party faces - and has come up with a “clear plan” on how to take the party and country forwards.

He says the ongoing leadership contest should settle that debate.

He is FOS just like the Tories were when they were in power. Talking tuff and then governing like leftists. This is just a cynical and desperate attempt ward of the threat by Nigel Farage and Reform. Only the most gullible of idiots would take any Tory seriously

You are quite correct. As Nigel Farage says, the Tory brand is ruined, and no one will believe anything they say.

The Tories are like our GOP. They flap their lips when the natives get restless, but that’s as far as it goes.

“Hawkish comments on immigration from both candidates”

Kind of like hearing George W. Bush saying that he’ll seal the border. The Tories TOTALLY BLEW their chance and if they REALLY wanted immigration fixed, they’d step aside as a political party an let Reform UK do what’s necessary.

Farage is a weak reed as well, unfortunately.

For Israel he says it needs to be there for Jews to survive as a race.

But for Britain: “Race doesn’t matter, only integration.”

Farage sounds ok to me.

“For Israel he says it needs to be there for Jews to survive as a race.”
That’s been proven, as far as I can tell - especially given the reaction in the US to the Hamas Oct. 7th attack. There are no safe places for Jews in the world at this point, although the US was safe until the mass immigration of Muslims put them ahead of Jews in the DNC playbook.
If people want to argue as to whether Jews SHOULD survive as a race, that’s a different topic.

“But for Britain: “Race doesn’t matter, only integration.””
In the UK, you get thrown in jail if you talk about race in terms that the government doesn’t like (meaning: Factually). We’re only slightly better - here you lose your job, but usually don’t get jailed.

I’m fine with what Israel is doing.

I’m not fine with what is imposed on every other Western country.

Or politicians who defend it.
