We hired a local kid advertised as a “hard worker” on the nextdoor app (photo of him pushing a push lawnmower)
We hired the kid for one day (16 yr old) to get rid of demolition material by loading it on the back of a dump truck. It was an unusually warm day, granted, but this kid stopped work every 5 minutes and stopped when my 56 yr old husband took a biz call on his cell. He looked MISERABLE and told my husband “I HATE to sweat.”
We offered more work but we never heard from him again. LOL Today’s generation are cream puffs. They would never bail hay or do anythign associated with manual labor except for the (true) Amish kids.
We hired a local kid for HOW MUCH PAY?
I got into my line of work because it was hard and my exact thought was that “no one is gonna fight me for this job”. Summers suck because I too hate like hell to sweat but what are a gonna do?
