Seeing is believing: The truth of the IDF's conduct in Gaza, Hamas's brutality on Oct. 7 - opinion

A British general witnessed the truth of the IDF's conduct in Gaza, and Anglo Israelis saw the realities of the horror of October 7. However much we believe we have understood a situation, time and again we find that we may have read about it, heard about it, watched TV reports, but nothing compares to seeing for oneself.

Such were the sentiments expressed by Britain’s General Sir John McColl in a recent UK Times article he penned following a visit to Israel together with military experts from six NATO countries.

He had formed his initial view based on the projection of the international media – news that, seemingly, overlooked Hamas’s barbaric massacre of 1,200 Israeli men, women, and children on Oct. 7 while projecting an Israel Defense Force murdering innocent civilians in Gaza without rhyme or reason.

Based on the UK media’s version of the war between Israel and Hamas, McColl had been skeptical about the IDF’s performance in Gaza. Having served in combat in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan for some 38 years, McColl recognizes the challenges facing an army’s wanting to keep civilian casualties to the minimum. However, having the opportunity to see Israel for himself, he found the reality somewhat different than that projected by the media.

The Media will never report the Truth about Israel.

“””McColl’s conclusive words spoke of the urgent necessity for international journalists to report more accurately and for Israel to be more open on the conduct of its operations while recognizing the need for security. He said, “I came away from the trip satisfied that the IDF’s operations and rules of engagement were rigorous compared to the British Army and our Western allies.” “”””

This paragraph pretty well summarizes reality vs the media’s biased reporting.

I don’t care what steps Israel takes to wipe Hamas off the map. I am unmoved by claims of collateral damage.

They sowed the wind.

he found the reality somewhat different than that projected by the media.

This is the case with just about everything the “media” says.

The left-wing totally biased media, know that there are enough followers of their trash and lies to make a difference for them. The low-information followers of the left-wing media will not wander off their preferences for ‘news’, and so, the left-biased media won’t care that the truth is not what they report. Been that way for many decades and it won’t change. Iran and their proxies are the victims and Israel will forever be the villain.

“he found the reality somewhat different than that projected by the media.”

I’m shocked.

At the link there’s a link to an article about “Supernova: The Music Festival Massacre.” There’s a comment: “Every U.S. college and university that receives taxpayer funding should be required to have the entire staff and student body watch the 47 minutes of film footage the Hamas terrorists took.”

I’ve never found a way to view that or any other video that might disturb a snowflake. For sure youtube won’t let you see anything graphic. Admittedly I don’t go anywhere strange online, I stick to half a dozen sites I trust. But how does one actually see anything that happened on Oct. 7, as it happened? All I’ve ever seen is the vacated area, somewhat cleaned up; and the views of the coffin-draped flags.
This seems to be the standard practice in the media. Warnings of graphic content for even a hint of violence, or the sight of a dead critter; blurred out photos and videos; and strict regard for the tender sensitivities of viewers.

The world needs to admit to itself that except for Israel’s concern regarding civilians, this whole matter would have been solved LONG AGO

I feel that way too.

But I just rewatched Trump’s speech in North Carolina of 4 days ago, and what he says at the end of that speech—after all his wonderful remarks about the economy—is the best part of all.

That the war in Ukraine didn’t have to happen.

Helpful as his economic wisdom it, that is his heart speaking. He is a man of peace. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.

It comes at the end. Watch if you missed it

IF you really want to see it, write or call your Congressman or Senator to view it. If you represent a church, synagogue or other group, write the nearest Israeli Consulate and see if they can help.

So, you have to submit a personal request to a senator, a congressman, or a consulate to see what happened on October 7. An event of world significance.
That’s a pretty sad state of affairs.

Yes. YOu can write AP or other news organizations (which I have), but they are censoring everything about it. Especially Facebook and Google.

THE BIGGEST LIE==

“INNOCENT CIVILIANS IN GAZA”.

They are the integral part of the entire area. They support & hide HAMAS at every turn.

NO SYMPATHY

Any sympathy I ever had for the so-called “Palestinians” went over the side with Leon Klinghoffer back in the 80s. They are nothing but a Nazi death cult.

At the lookout point, which faces Gaza, one participant put on his binoculars, surprised to see many mid-rise buildings still standing, unscathed; surprised because the news channels consistently show selected cityscapes of total destruction.

While the press is throwing away the last vestiges of their credibility, one wonders where the hell are the publishers and owners? Why don't they step in and clean up the lies?
