That would help re tracking. But IIRC that also prevents calls and texts. (I don’t know for sure.) So what’s the point of having it with you?

It does. I limit the use of my phone for my own sanity. I see people with one glued to their face (while driving too) and gives me the Willy’s. I survived 40+ years without the constant need for contact, why change?
Also, in a self-gratifying, conspiracy way if I am ever watched and my phone goes dead for long periods I hope it raises flags and the gov gets unnerved. Same thought for using cash, they cannot track your movements via your cards. It is none of their business. I am always amazed how the public has no clue how they are watched. Take a drive/walk in any good-sized city and you will be seen on dozens of cameras, license plate readers and phone towers every few miles you move.
