Nope, as a fellow Oregonian, I watched his politics in the legislature before he went to Congress. As the Speaker of the House in Oregon, he tried to pass a major tax bill without adhering to the Oregon Constitution, which requires to 2/3's vote to pass. He called it a (mandatory) 'contribution', saying 2/3's wasn't required. Luckily, Peter Courtney had the honesty to kill the bill for that reason.
