“Details about the exact accusations remained unclear, but are believed to be connected to allegations of the Turkish government illegally funneling money into his mayoral campaign, according to sources. It’s also uncertain how the indictment is related to a sweeping set of Sept. 4 raids that targeted several high-profile Adams administration officials, which sent City Hall into a weeks-long tailspin as news reports emerged of investigations focused on alleged corruption by the mayor’s inner circle.”

Truth be told... All major cities with black mayors, should have all those mayors indicted and imprisoned. Because they were/are black, democrats thought/think that, they are automatically criminally immune, so. those mayors did all they could to become rich off the backs of their constituents and commit many other crimes while at it.

Hunter Biden and the Biden crime family are black too, but with bigger benefits than those that actually carry black skin. It's a democrat thing, but blacks do believe that they're immune from law-enforcement.

The New York Times reported shortly later that the warrant sought records related to contributions, travel to Turkey by people linked to the campaign, and documents of interactions between the campaign and Turkey’s government, or people acting at its behest.

“sources say” investigation into illegal campaign finance led to an investigation of bid-rigging, so sounds like pay-to-play ... also, i suspect that many/most/all of the plethora of underlings arrested in recent weeks have rolled over on the mayor, so the Feds probably have a damn strong case against the mayor ...
