I never held a job that was anything like the one Amy Wax had, but if I had a disagreement with management, I was told one of two things...... shut up & keep working or leave. No negotiating. How fair was that? That wasn’t exactly the end of it either. If the management didn’t like your attitude, they could make things difficult for you as an encouragement to get you to leave. Retirement day never really came soon enough. Few ever were fired from there. They usually just up & quit or retired if they were lucky.
"A tenured post is an indefinite academic appointment that can be terminated only for cause or under extraordinary circumstances, such as financial exigency or program discontinuation."
"Tenure is a means of defending the principle of academic freedom, which holds that it is beneficial for society in the long run if scholars are free to hold and examine a variety of views."
Tenure is a BIG thing in the academic world.
The Penn Nazis are after Amy Wax.

I always made them fire me.
