That outage map gives a pretty good picture of where the biggest damage is. However, there are some smaller entities that don’t publish outage data including one in northeast TN into the west edge of North Carolina. Still, very good information. But a lot of people are sitting right along that state border and may not even have a house any more, let alone power.
But still, a great link.
The Grace of God.
The death toll has surpassed 90 souls from Hurricane Helene.

As the adjuster was leaving, he said, "Don't pay full amount to any contractors--just deposits until work is completed. And DON'T give political donations, they will never leave you alone!" I asked him when he last donated to a political campaign. 2020, he said. Trump. I said I was mad at Trump for junking up my mail and email inboxes. He said, "Don't be mad at Trump!" Then he started shouting TRUMP!, TRUMP!! TRUMP!!! as he got into his FEMA NFIP truck and drove away. ROFLMAO!
“Fun story—Flood insurance adjuster just left. Go figure—he was off a jolly good start when he saw the U.S. flag flying out front.”
Love it! 🤣
I’d say go ahead and claim the lost ammo. The government knows about you already—you’re a FReeper.
Actually, one of the few famous FReepers!
Was claim #25 for flood insurance. Adjuster left an hour ago. I thought 8" inside, he said 11". All appliances, lower cabinets, and furniture are write-off. See fun story above.
Great to see the adjuster in and out so quickly. 11” - a little extra to account for “waves” and prevent arguments.
Was it Jake, from State Farm?
What was he wearing? Khakis?
GREAT story lol..needed a chuckle after all the awful news from the Gulf coast and Appalachia..
Your explanation makes sense with the water level differences.
Ouch--one of my neighbors doesn't have flood ins., the other has dwelling coverage only, without contents. They are in for deep pocket expenses.
Name two things that these locations have in common: Florida panhandle, Georgia, western North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama.
Answer:
1. All have been pounded absolutely flat by the strongest hurricane ever to hit the region in recorded history, and
B. All vote solid Republican, which is apparently why FEMA hasn’t lifted a finger anywhere in the region, according to residents there.

there’s been various crews coming in at different stages to clear downed trees from blocking roads and removing downed power lines across roads... the national guard is distributing mres? and water... and i got my electric bill today in the mail while my electricity has been out for 4 days...
Ah, the sweet melody of chainsaws after a big storm. Did your electric bill cycle end before the storm made landfall? Next month should reflect the days without service. Thank you for checking in with a progress update. Hang in there.
Forgive me, FRiend! I meant to answer sooner. Mt Airy is beautiful, we visited some years ago. We were without power for a good 14 hours.
the melody of chainsaws and generators... and thank you... suwannee strong 💪...
