Squatters have taken over an abandoned Los Angeles mansion belonging to the son of the Philadelphia Phillies owner while neighbors view the high-end property as an eyesore and are scared for their safety.
The home located at 7571 Mulholland Drive in the posh Hollywood Hills has been left vacant for over a decade, a few years after John Powers Middleton — the only son of businessman John S. Middleton — purchased the property, according to ABC 6.
Squatters and taggers began breaking onto the empty premises over two years as taggers began leaving blasting their artwork all over the house.

Why would anyone abandon a house in an expensive neighborhood?
That mansion could house a lot of homeless - I suggest the owner donate it for housing for the homeless, he'd get a big tax write off as well. Billions have been spent and the homeless situation is worse than ever in So Cal so use the vacant mansions!
Neighbors don't like it, don't feel safe...Too Bad!! You're all for putting "affordable" housing in OUR neighborhoods and could care less about our safety or that of our children
ESTATE FIGHT BY HEIRS???
So how many “new arrivals” at 7571 Mulholland Drive are registered to vote?
Burn the dang thing down!
Why would anyone allow those fkrs to grafitti up their place?
Cops do nothing since they control the squatter rings just like they control the drug rings and car theft rings. All govt employees are enemies of the people.
I did some work for Middleton Sr. (a putting green) on his Palm Beach mansion. Needless to say that one is in better shape.
Family’s money is in cheap cigars. Black and Milds, Phillies, etc.
He needs to hope for a wild fire. They are prone to California.
Probably just waiting for them to burn it down to collect the insurance.
wow. The Absolute State of This Place.
Oh, wait, Phillies? Looks like Philadelphia is contagious.
Oh my gosh
That graffiti shows how some people can bring down any place they live.
RE: high end property....
So, the squatters raised their ends high when they mooned the neighborhood.
1) freedom of speech (not for any of us, but high priced lawyers defend them.)
2) They call that defacing property “art” and honor some of the “taggers” by calling them “artists.” That’s why many sign their vandalism as if they were Michelangelo.
Another of the examples of my being old school and not agreeing with the “progress.”
The neighbors have talked about buying it from John Powers Middleton.
If I was Middleton, I’d say “Sure”
“$7.5 million”
I’ve never seen a mansion run - how fast was it going?
Sure looks that way.
