The National Health Service in England, founded in 1948 to deliver health care directly to all in need following World War II, is in trouble.
Not only is it broke, but it is also broken, as the new British Prime Minister Keir Starmer just pointed out in response to a recent government study.
The waiting lines for care are prohibitive. A recent study revealed that 8 million people in the United Kingdom are waiting for their care, with 40 percent waiting for more than 18 weeks. An incredible 14,000 people died just last year while waiting for care in England’s emergency rooms.
Despite the well-meaning and compassionate doctors and nurses in the NHS, it is impossible to justify a health system when you have to wait so long for potentially life-saving care. If you aren’t seen, it is impossible to determine severity and urgency.
The regime’s propaganda machine will drown out the ringing of any alarms.
Pfffft, no one here cares, and when it does happen, they’ll simply blame conservatives.
The worst part is they are the canary in the American coal mine.
More Liberal failure!
Just like with our unsustainable debt path. An economic storm is brewing that nobody cares about now, but at some point they will and the blame will be laid at the feet of conservatives.
The Democrats in the U.S. are braindead Marxist zombies. They wouldn't hear alarms about their ideology if Karl himself were ringing the bell.
I have been told by actors on tv that the UK’s healthcare system is the best in the world, no one pays for anything and the doctors and nurses are all loving and compassionate /s
Remember that macabre celebration of the NHS during the London Olympics Opening Ceremonies?
Go to a hospital and ask how much a procedure is. No one will give you a straight answer. They keep repeating "who is your insurance, who is your insurance". No, I want a true answer devoid of middlemen and scoundrels.
They can't give you the answer.
In Britain *everybody* has the right to wait 9 months for a brain scan...to wait a year to see a cancer specialist...and to wait 18 months for a hip replacement. And they don’t have to pay a penny for the privilege.
We have 30 million people in this country that shouldn’t be here.
More like “81 Million”.
Government does everything badly and the bigger it is, the worse it gets
You can’t export all of those people. The housing shortage would collapse, RE prices would collapse and whole swaths of publicly funded private interests would be whiped out in a heartbeat. You might even be able to enjoy going to the beach again, although your experience may vary.
Government does everything badly and the bigger it is, the worse it gets
You mean “Diverse it gets!”
What do the politicians care? They have private physicians that are available to them 24/7. I have a wealthy relative that paid cash for all of her cancer treatments - and got right in.
Ask the people in Springfield, Ohio, how they feel about the medical system now...
“Mayor Rob Rue said...that a mass influx of migrants in recent years has overwhelmed the city’s healthcare and education systems.”
This will come to the US, all over, if Harris is elected, it is one of her key platforms.
It is already happening in California where illegals are allowed to not only access our ERs and health care systems, they don’t have to pay a thing for it. Newsom has made sure that illegals have health care coverage.
Had to take my daughter to urgent care to get a clearance for school - was totally packed with what looked like illegals, so many they were sitting on the steps outside. Went back about six months later and it had closed down.
Sure, the UK’s National Health Service is in trouble. But that will have no effect on liberals who want the exact same thing here.
And that’s because a core liberal belief is, “This time it will be different.”
But of course it never is.
