He may not have needed intel, but just put two and to together. Trump golfs at his courses all the time and it’s common knowledge. Just a matter of lying in wait in a convenient place and wait for PDJT to come by, which he will at some point in time. If he’d had specific intel, he probably wouldn’t have had to lurk for 12 hours — just be very prepared for the high sign, and set up quickly.

I suspect it might have been more the case of needing to set up his “nest” under the cover of darkness and low car / pedestrian traffic.
