Now just one GCSE can get you a job as an MI5 spy

School leavers who did badly in their exams can still have a career as a spy in the secret security services, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

MI5 is looking for potential spies with just one GCSE, providing the qualification is in English and it's a grade 4 or above.

Spymasters hope to recruit dozens of school leavers or older adults on a starting salary of £32,000.

The role – called a Foundation Analyst – involves examining data, such as audio files, from potential state enemies to see if they are linked to terrorists, extremists or organised crime gangs.

Most roles within MI5 and the other intelligence agencies usually require applicants to have a top university degree.

And there was once a time when the majority of graduates joining the security service were selected from Oxford and Cambridge.

But now MI5 – currently depicted in hit Apple TV drama Slow Horses, starring Oscar winner Gary Oldman – says it wants to increase diversity and recruit individuals with virtually no academic qualifications.

Those selected could also potentially move into other areas of the organisation's work such as agent handling and intelligence.

Successful applicants will have to pass a rigorous selection process where their background will be subjected to careful vetting to ensure they have no links to terrorists or criminal groups or whether they could be targeted by foreign agents.

Hopefully, MI5 will find Britain’s “idiots-savant”?

Maybe designate their new recruits as MI4?

Tell you a little secret... it ain’t just in GB.

Our own CIA has been expanding nearly exponentially since the mid eighties. And the majority of that new CIA is most definitely NOT!!! respectful of the Constitution, nor of citizens’ rights under that Constitution.

President Trump MUST!!! take a WRECKING BALL to that evil, unconstitutional internal oppressive force. And the CIA is only one of the agencies that have been turned inwards against We The People.

“… just one GCSE, providing the qualification is in English and it’s a grade 4 or above.”

Sounds like they’re looking for native speakers of target languages, such as Chinese, Arabic, Korean, etc. that can communicate in English to grind through the massive amount of intercepts they can now gather.

In one of the Johnny English movies, all the M17 agents were killed when they were gathered in one place.

Is this what happened?

I'm currently reading the book titled "Spy Catcher: The Candid Autobiography of a Senior Intelligence Officer" by former Assistant Director of MI5 Peter Wright. The book was published in 1987. The British government fought to keep the book from being published.

Wright began his career with MI5 in 1954.

Here is the Wikipedia page on the book:

Spy Catcher

Peter Wright passed away in 1995. Here is the link to his obituary which describes his MI5 career at length.

Obituary: Peter Wright

Both "Spy Catcher" and this book: "Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA" by Tim Weiner were recommended to me by someone on another conservative website. I had mentioned to them that I was reading: "Fugitives: A History of Nazi Mercenaries During the Cold War" by Danny Orbach, a book about the CIA's hiring of known Nazi war criminals for intelligence purposes. I haven't yet bought a copy of "Legacy of Ashes."

If you're interested in espionage books, I recommend Without Cloak or Dagger by Miles Copeland. I think it was published in 1974.

Maybe MI5 has learned that higher educated folks have become dumber and want to get to folks before they’re indoctrinated.

Talk about planting the seeds of your own destruction...

When the new recruits discover that the intelligence agencies are linked to terrorists, extremists and organised crime gangs, things will get deadly interesting real fast.
