Sir Keir Starmer is under major fire this afternoon after he refused to rule out clobbering pensioners even more in the forthcoming Budget.
At Prime Minister’s Questions, Tory MP Louie French rose to demand answers around rumours the government may be planning to withdraw two further crucial support measures from older people.
Mr French specified pensioners’ free bus passes, and the single person council tax discount.
Sir Keir ducked the simple question, replying: “As he knows very well, I am not going to preempt the Budget. It will all be set out in due course.”
With a casual wave of his hand, the Prime Minister casually dismissed major concerns some of the most vulnerable Britons may now be feeling, just 24 hours after the Labour Government demonstrated such a callous attitude towards their Winter Fuel Payments.

It costs the British National Health System a lot of money to take care of the elderly, if they die off quicker, it saves the NHS a lot of money.
Subsidized heating oil. Subsidized property taxes. Subsidized bus passes. It turns out, all that free stuff gets expensive when you add it all up. Especially when there are immigrants to feed and house.
I guess the lesson here is don’t become dependent on the government...
Agreed. No one would trust their finances with a broke, corrupt bank or other financial institution. Why trust broke, corrupt government?
Americans are big time dependent on government. Just medical alone, every American on Medicare is a huge drain on the country.

It saves money for the NHS to freeze the elderly, they are just worthless eaters anyway. I’m being sarcastic but it’s not far from the truth.
The UK and just about all the other Western Countries are doing things like cutting off aid to the elderly, while simultaneously eliminating the border and allowing much younger fighting age men from the middle east into their countries.
It seems insane and completely crazy, the leaders of these countries are not stupid people, they are doing these things for a reason.
Indeed, the whole of the UK appears lost, politically and physically.
Is America that far behind, if Trump loses? Even if he wins, without sufficient gains elsewhere, his tasks look insurmountable.

Whatever the thinking, killing off the aged, enslaving the poor and imprisoning dissenters is in their plan, while they live healthy and happy.
