Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville tells “Dan Abrams Live” that former President Donald Trump needs to get his game face on because he’s “hearing good things out of Pittsburgh” about Vice President Kamala Harris‘ debate preparation.
“I think she is very well prepared. I think she’s coming with a game. And I don’t, I don’t know what’s going on in Trump world, but he better tighten his chin strap, because she’s coming after him,” Carville said.
He called Trump a “totally known entity” and emphasized the focus of the debate will be the nation’s first look at Harris on the hunt.
“I think tomorrow night is very critical,” Carville added. “By the way, I hate to say this, but I expect her to do very well.”
Hogan Gidley, a former White House deputy press secretary in the Trump administration, thinks the GOP nominee will win the Tuesday debate because of Harris’ overly prepared responses.
“I will say James is right 100% about the vice president. Kamala Harris will have all of the contrived, rehearsed lines ready to go after Donald Trump,” Gidley said.
But, countered Carville, who doesn’t practice for a presidential debate?
“That’s the most asinine charge I’ve ever heard against a political campaign. You think we don’t all get together and debate prep?” he asked.

I think he frustrates her but not enough.
You never know though. She might get really angry when he goes off on her about inflation.
I can’t wait to see Serpent Head once again with a trash can on his head.
I am sure she has had the questions for a week. She has been rehearsing the answers.
I even think they are letting the polls skew toward Trump being up.
They are down playing Kamala debating skills.
So when she finishes the Debate no matter how poorly she does.
They can say she really out performed and by magic she will take a huge jump in the polls over Trump.

So, if she has people that know how to win elections, why was she destroyed by Tulsi in a few sentences in 2016?
Kamala is TERRIBLE at thinking on her feet, she has shown this time and time again.
This isn’t an academic debate, where the subject is predetermined and limited before hand.
I’ve been around attorneys my entire life, and trust me, while there are some geniuses in the field, many are not remotely as smart as they think they are. Kamala definitely fits in the latter category... many have a lot more ego than ability.
Kamala has shown herself to be a lousy political debater. I have no doubt she’ll have her canned answers at the ready and her pre written zingers waiting to be used, but if the debate in any way requires her to think on her feet, she’ll fall apart.
Being a prosecuting or even a defense attorney, or sitting on a congressional committee, etc these are not remotely situations that are comparable.
Kamala is likely just going to try to attack Trump all day long... I’m sure the term “convicted felon” will be tossed about freely... as will all the other rhetoric, and all Trump has to do is just keep putting it back on her record, an failed economy, and failed border, and failed international policy.
Kamala can’t defend her policy because its terrible... Trump can pick apart her flip flops all day long...
All she has is, Orange Man Bad... and that’s not going to sway anyone or anything.
LIke I said, she’ll likely muddle through... and as long as she doesn’t complete collapse the media will try to say she delivered the best performance ever... because that’s how they play the game.
I’m sure she’ll try to goad Trump, and might even be successful.... Let’s face it that stupid exchange in the last debate over golf made both the candidates look like fools. However, Trump just has to keep pushing her record.
I am sure, and have no doubt their goal will be to try to goad Trump... and we shall see if they are able too... its really all they got. Trump however is Trump.. everyone knows who he is by this point... Kamala is not likely going to sway a single Trump voter to her side no matter how good she may do.
Only target market really out there are folks reluctant to commit to Trump... if she goads him into doing something foolish some of those might commit to her, but given other than the hard core dems, the few undecideds that are out there, all are very uncertain about her, she has much more to lose....
Trump wins those over by just pounder her record... she wins them by trying to convince the Trump is so bad, they need to just ignore whatever concerns they have about her and commit to her.
Either way, she doesn’t walk away in any better position even if she does her best. IMHO.
And personally, as I have said before, if she is forced in any way to have to think on the fly and not offer a canned pre-scripted answer, she will fall apart.

Don’t attack her schools. Schooling really only matters for the first couple months before and after graduation.
Trump needs to win votes from women and independents. Personal attacks are not the way to do that.
She’s gonna need to loosen hers after she gets on the knees.

And I didn't suggest that Trump should attack her school. I said she was a poor student and that suggests that it's probably too late to become good at debate by cramming for it.
