For the military, it creates another problem similar to alcohol. The military cracked down on alcohol. Formal and informal counseling (warnings), NJP, and even Court martial were used to reduce alcohol consumption on base. They combined punishment with mandatory alcohol and drug counseling to reduce consumption on and off base. If you leave THC illegal at the Federal Level, Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots, and anyone licensed and managed through the Feds would not be able to consume THC legally just before work or during work. You are on call but not at work; you have a drink before or after dinner. You respond when a call comes in, which is usually no problem unless you drink vodka from a tumbler. Same person smokes a joint or eats a gummy or two and the are called out, that is not going to end well. Off-duty Police in some jurisdictions have restrictions if they have been drinking.
That is the cost of regulation.🤔
THAT is my issue with the war on some drugs.🤔
If to take mind altering drugs you had to have a permit that prevented you from legally driving, flying a plane or otherwise having a job where you could harm other people I could go with that.🤔
Cannabis, a complex plant: different compounds and different effects on individuals
when I walked away from it, there was no real withdrawal experience. Perhaps moments of missing the high, but since I had made my mind up to walk away, that was easily overcome.
Here are some of the benefits from the plant:
Pain relief: Marijuana has been shown to be effective in managing severe pain, including chronic pain, nerve pain, and pain associated with multiple sclerosis. Nausea and vomiting: Cannabis has been used to alleviate chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, as well as severe nausea.
Seizures: Marijuana has been found to be effective in reducing seizure frequency and severity in patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders.
Muscle spasms: Cannabis has been used to treat persistent muscle spasms, including those associated with multiple sclerosis and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): Marijuana has been suggested as a potential treatment for PTSD, although more research is needed to confirm its efficacy.
Autism spectrum disorder: Some studies have explored the potential therapeutic benefits of marijuana in treating autism spectrum disorder, although more research is required to fully understand its effects.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS): Cannabis has been used to treat ALS, specifically to manage symptoms such as muscle spasms and pain.
Cachexia: Marijuana has been found to be effective in treating cachexia, a condition characterized by weight loss and muscle wasting, often associated with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other chronic illnesses.
Glaucoma: Cannabis has been used to treat glaucoma, a condition characterized by increased eye pressure and potential vision loss.
HIV/AIDS: Marijuana has been used to treat symptoms associated with HIV/AIDS, including pain, nausea, and weight loss.
Tourette syndrome: Limited evidence suggests that THC capsules may have a therapeutic effect in reducing tic severity and improving global clinical outcomes in patients with Tourette syndrome.
These therapeutic aspects of marijuana are supported by various studies and anecdotal reports, although more research is needed to fully understand its mechanisms of action and optimal dosing for each condition. Additionally, it is essential to note that marijuana’s therapeutic potential is not limited to these specific conditions, as it has been suggested to have benefits in a wide range of health conditions, including anorexia, emesis, inflammation, neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy, obesity, and metabolic syndrome-related disorders, among others.
Indeed it's true that Reefer Madness focused entirely on the bad, because the good was unknown. As for the claim that it's the gateway for other dangerous illicit drugs, I believe the over-hyped campaign to combat pot had more to do with that than anything else. Because once people had tried pot and realized that it was not all that dangerous, people began to question all of the other claims. Cocaine had been an ingredient in Coca-Cola for many years. LSD was touted as a promising cure for mental issues when it was accidently discovered.
Agreed.
All we know for sure is they spent it lol
And whenever government has money to spend you can bet that it will be misspent.
And that’s a fact jack.🤔
In California you can be arrested for driving while high, it’s treated the same way as drunk driving.
Well he has less than week to come out with the statement on marijuana he said he’d put out in a week. I’m still waiting on the better alternative to Obamacare that was supposed to come out in two weeks years ago. LOL.
The idea that Trump would endorse any kind of drug use when he is extremely adamant about no drug use himself (no smoking, no drinking etc) is silly. The only reason he might say something like this is that he wants to bring idiot druggie conservatives and druggie leftists in the party.
Is medical marijuana smoked or taken in some kind of pill form?
There is no such thing as "medical" marijuana. The idea that smoked or eaten marijuana is good medicine was invented by drug advocates as a way to smooth the path for overall legalization. It was the camels nose under the tent. There had been and were researched drugs that were based on THC that were and are available long before the idea of "medical" marijuana was advanced.
