How awful, so they just suffocated? I think I would want to change my mind during it

Well, no. When you refuse intubation you do get anxious initially and breath faster, but you eventually loose consciousness and go to sleep before you pass. So, unpleasant at first as you struggle to breath, but if you are resigned to pass it usually doesn’t last too long.

Pretty much, though as I understand it, my sister more than likely was drowning, if I got the explanation right.
How my grandmother died ? I don’t really know. I was at the hospital, and it was explained that she said she had enough and she wanted to go “home”.
