I want to share a sweet story. My 9yo does some chores for me, so I paid him cash and took him shopping yesterday to buy Christmas gifts for the family.
Of course in addition to buying family gifts, he got some for himself. He gets to the checkout and was short. I wasn’t giving him more money (trying to teach him about money) and he didn’t ask, so he was taking stuff for himself out. This lady behind me and her adult son were watching him, I explained that he was spending money he earned of family gifts. The son put $10 on the counter to help, anwe thanked him for it, we told him he didn’t have to, but he wanted to. Two things still grandson said to take out, he explained it was OK because it was just for himself.
We’re walking out the store and those dear folks ran after us, they had bought those 2 items! Grand and I told them thank you and have a Merry Christmas!
There are good kind people in the world. I honestly believe it made their day, I know random acts of kindness does wonders for the soul. And they were so impressed by that cute little boy spending hid earned money of others. God bless them!
Oh Rusty.....what a lovely story! Those givers must have felt so good doing that.....it truly is much more rewarding to give than receive.
So sweet!!
