Well, ya, your well trained. However music is inspirational if it comes from the soul, whether classic, jazz, blues, country, whatever. I used belong to a group of Christians who would gather and do spontaneous prayer and praise. No sheets, just a rhythm with various instruments, and maybe some singing and harmonizing with whatever they felt in their heart, would go on for a very long time, very sweet and moving. It wasn’t flaky, it was scriptural uplifting and enjoyable.
“just a rhythm with various instruments, and maybe some singing and harmonizing with whatever they felt in their heart”
LOL! That’s one of the four things that are red flags for me in church. The other three al would be snakes, someone talking in tongues, and the appearance of green Kool Ade.
I have been at a few gatherings and the worship moved from singing our traditional songs to singing “in the spirit”.....as in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Ephesians 5: 19 - 21.
It was just singing what was on the heart....no tongues that I recall. Usually it was the worship leaders. And yes, norsky, it’s quite beautiful. Perhaps it’s meant only for troglodytes such as you and me lol. Ignore the ridicule and insults.
Sounds lovely, a great way to encourage inspiration and feeling closer to God
