You kinda missed the whole point. It's not the credit union it's THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Lemme guess - if the CU goes to pot, we all get the pleasure of paying the debts, right? After all, it is a Demo-crook run state. (If the Latinos themselves ran the place, it’ll probably do ok.) However, we know the crime syndicate (e.g., RAT) bosses are, and the rats have an unbroken record of s**tting on everything they touch.

If they’re legal, they don’t need their own GD credit union. If they’re illegal, get the F out.

Simple grift.
"Credit unions need a charter — a license to operate — from either the National Credit Union Administration or a state credit union regulator. The federal government and state governments have different chartering rules and requirements.

"Credit unions are cooperatives, meaning they are member-owned and operated. Federally chartered credit unions must have an NCUA-approved field of membership, which is the legal description of the persons, organizations, and other entities the credit union will serve."

Source: https://ncua.gov/support-services/credit-union-resources-expansion/starting-new-federal-credit-union

This is not a chartering process, but a begging bowl wherein the proposed principals ask the city to dump $1 million in city funds into their lap. They already acquired the property and want public money to renovate. Nothing new in this. Democrats being Democrats, in a super-majority Democrat state with $$605 billion in debt.

If this isn’t blatant racism, then I don’t know what is. There are dozens of credit unions they can join. But they know they can ask for amd maybe get free money. This sh*& has got to stop.

What sheer arrogance in asking for money for illegals who are already indigent and here illegally now wanting banking privileges with more Tax payer funds. Unreal.

But they have to follow the application rules to join the current credit unions. If they can cobble one together, they get to make some of their own rules, or, they will overlook those they have to have but that will get in their way of providing services to illegals.

Seed money from the city and county is code for......if we fail, you won’t get a dime. If we succeed, you won’t get a dime.

The best way to work with people is education, education, education.

They have building but no plan.

No thanks.

I am from the area and have done presentations to the local Hispanic community. I spoke slowly and everything I said was translated. If there were questions about interpretations, we stopped. Frankly, it was a blast because most of the people I delt with were super eager to learn. Yeah, sometimes things were translated very incorrectly.....and we all laughed.

Reading has a very long history with Spanish speaking citizens. Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans all came looking for work in the mushroom buildings, the other farm entities and textiles.

The Dominicans actually came much later and there were plenty of trouble makers who Rudy kicked out of NYC. The came to the small cities in eastern PA, and ruined things.
