Govt is the ultimate impediment to growth. Always has been in my lifetime at least.

And if you take your cash out of the bank, hide it under your mattress and sleep with your gun to protect it, they will still steal it through inflation. Since the Federal Reserve was founded to protect the money supply, almost 97% of the value of the dollar has been stolen. The Sloppy Service only guards against non-governmental counterfeiting. The Treasury and the Fed don’t like competition.

The government operates just like organized crime would if they had established full dominance and authority over a society and eliminated any challengers to that authority.

The sole purpose of government is to collect taxes.
Everything else that they do is done to legitimize the above purpose.
