I went into a pharmacy in Canada a couple weeks ago and asked for some home COVID tests.

I was told that they no longer manufacture or sell them.

So, this thing tells you if you have a cold. And the result is that you stay home and take cold median. Or you power through and go to work like you always have. And if you go to work you give the cold to 30% of the office who will pass it around until 30% of Americans get a cold that year. How is this different than every year in the past hundred? Why do we need the test?

My wife came back from California twelve days ago with a ‘bad cold’. But unlike a cold she could barely walk, in fact the airport put her in a wheelchair, and was incoherent. Tested positive. Called doctor the next day who prescribed paxlovid. First day she slept all day. Second day she was feeling much better. By the fourth day she was back to normal.

We laugh and should laugh at the hype, but Covid/Wuhan/China virus is real and can kill you. All three times my wife has contracted it, it has knocked the crap out of her, not like a cold at all.
