The US Senate has zero to do with impeachment; they only convict after the US House impeaches.

Sorry, but no. The Senate is to try all impeachments, not simply acquit, or convict and remove. Schumer and the dems decided to dismiss the Myorkas impeachment charges they received from the House without hearing any evidence.
