This is why the expansion of NATO eastward to the border of Russia has always been a bad idea, the idea that 3 small Baltic nations could send troops into battle against Russia and potentially draw the US military into the war is a terrible idea.

This is why NATO is a bad idea. And the fact that NATO keeps moving the goalpost as to what the real purpose is that they exist.

It is a feature of the Global American Empire's alliance philosophy to have as "allies" small, weak nations who, bolstered by their "alliance" antagonize large powerful neighbors.

This gives the Empire a rationale for going to war with states that we never could arrange causus belli on our own.
