A handful of drunk sailors with a map and diving experience in a rental boat.
I’ve been saying it wouldn’t take much to do this. It’s not like the pipeline is not on every map and everyone has gps. Shallow enough water to not need super exotic equipment.
I deal with gas pipelines all day. They blow up easy enough without anyone trying to help it alone.
C’mon man! Everyone knows the Russians blew up their own pipeline. It was on TV.
Not one that could transport and place the necessary demo charges.
I’m sure there are plenty of skilled divers in the region who could do the job but the rest of the story just does not add up.
The 50 ft sail boat they claim was rented is a pretty cramped boat and even a crew of 4 is getting pretty cozy even without the volume and roughly 3000 lbs of weight needed for the dive tanks alone.
Logistically, this story simply does not add up.
FJB already took credit for this in advance.
Anything is possible but this story just does not add up.
Just seems to me like this is more plausable than divers, which you accurately point out would be logistically difficult for many reasons from a small craft. The drone would not be limited by bottom time or number of tanks while searching for the pipeline or placing charges.
Not tanks. Surface supplied. Yes you can do that. I know a guy who used to weld that way.
The vessel-side equipment is quite compact.
Why is it a problem to do one pipeline at a time? Plant the charges, go back up. Do the other another time.
Use a side-scan sonar (these are quite portable) to pinpoint the pipeline and help maneuver the vessel.
Long timers on the demo charges.
No dive tanks needed. Surface supplied. Drop an anchor and the diver can follow the cable, with an offset from the pipeline determined by sonar.
Also the depth of the pipeline per online info is 60-70 meters, or 200 feet.
—”For Poles, sticking it to Russia and Germany at the same time qualifies as payback.”
POLAND?
Poland, with the third largest armed forces in Nato?
Turkey is #2 if they are counted.
Poland, sometimes referred to as the TEXAS of Europe?

“If you want peace, prepare for war.”
President Trump was certainly “involved” when he sanctioned Nordstream2 and effectively put it out of business to the benefit of American energy businesses and the good jobs they produce. That was only, of course, until Putin’s globohomo allies in the Marxist Democrat party cancelled the Trump sanctions. Thatw made it operational to the delight of Putin and the Euro pinkos
Putin’s brilliant grand strategy to invade and genocidally erase as much of Ukraine as he can killed Nordstream2 politically. If some one blew it up after that fact it matters little because it was already dead.
Today, with a potent and growing military, Poland has little reason to defer to Russia or Germany. So, Germany, you wish to get away from fossil fuels, then why complain about losing Nord Stream? Someone did you a favor. And, before you get too lippy about it, note that we Poles now have a larger and better tank force than you do.

“There have been repeated claims that it would not be feasible to carry out 80-metre dives from such a small boat, since the Andromeda had no space for a decompression chamber. However, a mention of helium in the intelligence report about the Ukrainian plan points to an alternative solution. By breathing a mixture of oxygen and helium and pausing at intervals while returning to the surface, the need for a decompression chamber could be avoided. A Dutch military website describes the process when used by navy divers.
In an interview with the Ostsee-Zeitung, Achim Schloeffel, an “extreme diver” and trainer, suggested the difficulties have been exaggerated. The pipeline would be easy to locate from sea charts or with an echo sounder costing around $3,000. The location could be marked by dropping a 15kg weight attached to a line with a marker buoy on the other end and divers would follow the line down to the exact spot. Explosives could be guided down the line in the same way. The boat would continue sailing and return to the marker buoy to pick up the divers when they surfaced
“Anyone who has completed level two in our diving school would be able to do this,” Schloeffel told the paper. “Especially for those who regularly go wreck diving, a dive to the pipeline would not be a problem for them. Just around Bornholm there is a pile of wrecks lying at a depth of about 80 meters — about the same depth as the pipeline. They are dived regularly.”
So what ?

Kazimierz Pułaski, The Father of American Cavalry.
A great American.
Yeah, right. 300ft not shallow.
So you are going with the idiocy that this was not USGovernment caused ?
Some people are just too stupid ..
How many of them are ‘Ukrainian’ ?
