Farewell, Leicester Square!

~The latest stabbing of an English girl - eleven years old - is being reported mostly because the heroic figure on hand who stepped in to disarm the "knifeman" (a recent coinage but now routine in Fleet Street) was a plucky Muslim fellow called Abdullah.

Good for him - even if the not-so-subtle sub-text of the reports was: You get it yet, you lousy Islamophobes? We need immigrants to come here to do the jobs Britons won't do - like saving the little girl from being stabbed by some of the other immigrants we let in. You'd better hope there's a civic-minded Abdullah on hand the next time you're ordering a decaf macchiato and a stabbing breaks out, because there's certainly nothing recognisable as a Londoner among the baristas and sales clerks of the West End.

The perp, it transpires, is one "Ioan Pintaru" of no fixed abode. With that name, his abode would at one time have been fixed in Romania or thereabouts. But that's the great thing about all this vibrant "diversity": the natives get reduced to the bit parts. Mohammedan hero, Balkan baddie: no Anglo-Celts need be involved in this story from the New Naked City - well, accept for the victim, of course.

Come to think of it, even that cannot be said with certainty: the poor kid could be Tajik or Bhutanese. London has reached the exquisitely rarefied heights of diversity where it has everything except Londoners. Somewhere in The Prisoner of Windsor I quote Metternich's famous line that the Balkans begin in the Landstraße. In Sadiq Khan's Great World City both the Balkans and the dar al-Islam begin in Leicester Square. That seems a smart move.

I agree totally, but despite Steyn’s wordsmithing I still read his essays with dread and dismay. What is going on in the Anglo-Saxon countries is horrible. (I don’t really care what’s happening in France, Germany. Italy or Spain, but it isn’t better.)

Thirty-five years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and things are just as bad as in the worst dystopia of the 1970 or 1980s (eg “1985” by Anthony Burgess).

“Starmer is not, as has been suggested, simply ‘tone-deaf’. He is seizing his opportunity, as Washington did on J6 and Justin did with the Canadian truckers...And you know how muted public protest about anything has been in either country since.”

I’ve pointed this out before - protest is now OUTLAWED in what was the “Free World”, with the UK now being openly Stalinist.

There are still many right here in America that still do not know that what is happening is world wide.

They are totally oblivious.

Those that rely on the TV and MSM newsprint are out of the loop because those outfits do not report about it.

Just shows us how bad it has gotten with the censoring of opinion even though we have more ways than ever to communicate world wide.

"If peaceful protest is not to be permitted, there's only the other kind left."

That's probably what they want.

Then they can REALLY crack down and open up "re-education camps" for the extreme right wingers!

Turn the entire country over to the muzzie mob!

Like they say, "Everyone's got a plan, 'til they get punched in the face." It will not go according to their plan.

You are right!

When the history of this period eventually will be written, I hope the people in the ether media and the newspapers will be pointed out as some of the main culprits, miscreants, and malefactors!

The Spanish Reconquista and Inquisition give a hint.

Don’t forget your nursery rhymes and commercial jingles.

Yes, it’s infuriating as all hell. How can it be, as Steyn says, that so many are so willing to go quietly into the night, into the dark abyss. The most astounding example of this close to home are the J-6 victims who are rotting away in the D.C. gulag with nothing being done by our so called representatives. They could at least stop funding the evil Injustice Department, but it won’t happen because they are part of the Deep State rot that is world-wide and universal. The list of evil rot taking place in the world is growing and no one can any longer escape the putrid stench.

Other thread said hero was a security guard at a tea shop.

Having trouble getting my mind around that.

...politicians and policemen and judges have failed the people. If peaceful protest ("watching riots from the sidelines") is not to be permitted, there's only the other kind left.

Indeed.

Yep - some people think they have to protest to “get his attention” because they think he doesn’t know.

He’s knows full well what he’s doing. The calls for him to resign are laughed at. He’s absolutely using the unrest to crush ALL of his enemies, even though those on the streets only represent 1% of those with the same frustrations - he’s using them to ignore EVERYONE.

Anyone thinking he’ll resign is delusional.

UK now being openly Stalinist.

One or two things...

In a Stalinist state ('openly' so or otherwise) -

-Police are everywhere (UK? fewer police per capita than any other European state)

-Police are accountable to nobody except the state. (UK? police are locally organised and accountable to a directly-elected local Police and Crime Commissioner)

-Police can arrest whom and when they please without risk to themselves (UK? police can be, and frequently are, sued for false imprisonment)

-Are not bound by habeas corpus (UK? habeas corpus alive and kicking)

.....etc

“-Police are everywhere (UK? fewer police per capita than any other European state)”
They don’t need to be, they have their Brownshirts now.

“-Police are accountable to nobody except the state. (UK? police are locally organised and accountable to a directly-elected local Police and Crime Commissioner)”
Stalin was elected too, and so was Hitler, for that matter.
https://www.nytimes.com/1937/12/14/archives/stalin-wins-poll-by-a-vote-of-100-no-opposition-is-shown-in-count.html

-Police can arrest whom and when they please without risk to themselves (UK? police can be, and frequently are, sued for false imprisonment)
Stalin had courts too and commoners didn’t do very well in those either.

-Are not bound by habeas corpus (UK? habeas corpus alive and kicking)
3-day trail and sentencing - call that ‘habeas corpus’ if you please, I’ll call it a SHOW TRIAL.

But, being from the UK, we realize you have to now BEHAVE on public forums, so I can’t blame you for trying to defend the Stalinists.

“well, accept for the victim, of course.”

*except

I know proofreading and editing is mostly dead. Et tu, Mark?

Anyway, follow-up story by the DM confirmed it was a homeless Romanian (father of three or four himself).

Sensible persons might question why he was not returned to his home country when he stopped contributing to the UK or even just himself.

Makes me wonder if they’re using speech-to-text and then only running a spellcheck.

Wow

Why is it the West is often saying when the perp is black or Muslim they have “mental issues” when they commit mass murder but if things are reversed then and only then is it a “hate crime”?

Wait, don’t answer that.
