The best friends I have are Waloon.
From Door Country of WI and the dialect they speak is so that they are sending people over from Begium to study and relearn it.
Why? Because the dialect is being lost in the oh so great woke Europa. There are about 12 different dialects of the language.
The Flemmings? Dutch.
As you might know, that country is completely divided ethnically.
Those I know in WI are the best people I have ever, and will ever know. Don’t have to ask for help from them. They find out you are in need, they are there immediately.
I found that out in 1966, the last time I visited Belgium. As we traveled southbound on a highway out of Ghent, we followed road signs to a place called Bergen. However, we never got there. When we completed the distance to Bergen as displayed in the signs, we found ourselves in a city called Mons, for we had crossed from the Flemish-speaking to the French-speaking part of Belgium.
