At some point, if we’re fortune enough to win this election, A Republican Congress needs to look seriously at legislation that will lessen the influence of political parties, big business and big government on our media.
The solution is not to restrict what media outlets can and can’t say but to restrict the ability of the three entities mentioned above, to buy them off or to coerce them. There should perhaps be stricter regulation of communications from political parties to media outlets. There should be strict penalties for any political party that communicates in secret with media.
