I was one of many assistants to a Navy admiral. His desk was about 10’ down a hall from mine and we spoke several times a day. I knew well a Marine General for years and worked with him on some important projects.
With all due respect, I disagree with you that we are not in a World War. We are in a war and we, with our current political leadership, are losing it. Here are some recent examples of our Naval Officers press clippings in recent years:
June, 2017, a Captain Bryce Benson is in command of a warship that runs into a merchant marine ship. With 7 sailors DEAD, he is just relieved of command.
August, 2017, a Captain Jeffrey Bennett is in command of a warship that collides with another merchant ship. With 10 sailors dead, he is just relieved of command.
July 2020, a Captain Gregory Thoramon is in command of a warship tied to the dock that was completely destroyed at a minimum cost of 1.2 billion dollars. Thoramon was fined $5,000 and relieved of duty.
So, it is my opinion, that the Navy I served 7 years in is woefully mislead and I worry about the War we are in turning into an all out shooting war. Our DEI/WOKE officer corp looks pretty shitty to me.......just ask the Houthi’s.
There are 300 +/- ships in the Navy. You find four bad commanders from the past 10 years.
That means 99% of them are competent.
