Why did you claim we stole the neutron bomb from Russia?

That’s what the Army told us in the 70s during NBC training.

When I tried to research this after you wrote first time, “How did Russia (get, deve, obtain, steal, make) the neutron bomb, every returned nothing but different versions of a story as you stated.

But this link was interesting and talked about espionage and mentioned Soviet development based on a document lost on a train, in 54/55. Of course it is speculation on Wikipedia but since it appears a lot is still not in the public domain.

We were ahead but how those scientiests made discovery is fascinating. The espionage angles are too.

Russia tested their first version at the end of 1978, I was cleared to use the artillery version when I was on the 155, years before that.

Here is a good report on them.

I do not dispute any of that but it still does not address the question of the dispersed nature of the present Ukrainian forces in Kursk. Nukes of all sorts are more effective against concentrations of forces, such as those fighting in Donbas. They have limited use against dispersed troops. That would change if the Ukrainians were to send more troops into Kursk, making their higher numbers better targets for nukes.

Yet.. we haven’t.

Look into where the cartels, who rule most of Mexico, get their funding.

My impression of nukes are that they are killing people, more than blowing stuff up. Given the effect of radiation on people, if you can hit them with a split second wave of radiation, which does not destroy all the infastructure abound the “explosion” area, it is a desirable “troops” in buidlings, vehicles, bunkers weapon. A single Artillery shell from the US M155 would probably send a radiation wave 1.5km in all directions. The destructive blast area is minimal. I believe this is why everyone stopped.

All it takes is to fire them in AO of an opposing force, and you can “limit” the blast effect and radiation effect. Maybe the radiation goes 10,000m - but there’s a guy here who knows of what is not spoken.
