—> He didn’t learn from the Wagner march to Moscow last year and fortify the borders.

Russia has a border of almost 14,000 miles.

They know they cannot defend the entire border with 100% protection.

Some attacks will get through. Cost of war.

Ground game goes on.

We had bad intelligence. Or maybe we manipulated the truth because of the MIC? War is good for business.

Some posts on Twitter are claiming many of the soldiers are from NATO countries, which wouldn’t be surprising if true.

Ukraine invaded with a CORP comrade, not 1000 men. They are staying.

Ukraine ping

[He does have nukes.]

Whether they’re used in Ukraine depends on Biden. If he issues the same threat Nixon issued to Brezhnev, Putin will back off.

https://www.scmp.com/article/714064/nixon-intervention-saved-china-soviet-nuclear-attack

It’s not really conceivable that Biden would give Putin a nuclear blank check in Ukraine, given that Nixon threatened to obliterate Russia over a nuclear attack on China.

On grounds of race and heritage, there’s a lot more binding the US to Ukraine. In 1969, when Nixon threatened the Russians, China was supplying North Vietnam with huge amounts of equipment dwarfing what the US is supplying to Ukraine. This continued until the collapse of South Vietnam in 1975.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_in_the_Vietnam_War#Confronting_U.S._escalation

In other words, China was an enemy of the US, and just the lesser of two evils. And yet Nixon committed the US to Russia’s annihilation, if it nuked China.

It probably pains you greatly that Nixon committed to zapping the Russians over a bunch of mud people. In your concept of reality, he must have been the ultimate neocon. In fact, Nixon was just a realist. A Russia that incorporated China would have increased its land area by 50% and tripled its population. Of course Nixon couldn’t allow the Russians to annex China.

It’s for similar reasons that US policy is to aid Ukraine in repelling Russia’s invasion force. What Putin does in Russia, nobody cares. Any expansion of the already enormous Russian empire, however, was bound to draw a reaction, no matter the party in power.

Note that China was part of Russia’s back yard, and the Russians had wrenched away a chunk of land 3x the size of Ukraine that was formerly part of the Chinese empire earlier on. So it was certainly credible that the Russians had a claim to the whole enchilada.

Furthermore, China was solidly a part of Communist International, and the Russians claimed suzerainty over the entire communist world. What kept Russia out of China was the fear of losses fighting against its gigantic neighbor. Unlike Hungary or Czechoslovakia, a Russian group army or two wouldn’t be sufficient to annex China.

In 1969, this was compounded by Nixon’s nuclear threat. What Russia viewed as its sphere of influence, a regime whose existence was entirely a product of Russian material support, was suddenly its own thing. That’s the thing about empires, even Russia’s. Nothing is forever.

That would be a long shot hope, that Putin can be destabilized.
Most likely he’d be replaced by a hard liner.
You’d like to see the army collapse and turn on the war. Highly unlikely, but Russia is a messed up country, as you saw with the Wagner revolt.
