OK. Call me woke, call me a greenie, whatever. But when I order carryout food, I tell them not to include any plastic utensils if delivered to my home, as I don’t need or want them.

For one thing, I’ve had too many plastic fork tines break off in my mouth and some that nearly having choked me on the pieces that broke off or the plastic knives that are useless and that also brake. I really hate these cheaply made, probably made in China, plastic utensils.

I usually pack my own lunch for work, usually leftovers that I pack in reusable microwave safe glass/pryex containers rather than a plastic container that gives off forever chemicals when microwaved, and I keep a set of stainless, reusable and washable utensils in a drawer in my desk.

I also have a reusable water bottle too with a cleanable and reusable silicone straw, so there is no need for any plastic straws.

I remember as a kid getting paper straws with drinks. And they worked just fine.
